Sad to say I am done with Destiny
As the title says unfortunately I am fully done with this game until AW comes out. No I am not a Cod "Noob" nor a "hater", I have played Bungie GAMES and not just the Halo series since the greatest game series of all time started off with Combat Evolved. I'm not done with the game because I "suck" because in my opinion I'm pretty good, I have constructive criticism and evidence as to why this game has failed me and many thousands of other players so I thought I'd voice my opinions with you guys and see if you may agree.
Poor servers. This is my number one point as this is my greatest frustration. I have been disconnecting anywhere from once a day to not even being able to log onto the game at all since launch. Now you could say it might be on my end, but I assure you it's not. I've ran so many tests on my internet connection via Xbox, my IP etc and all say my connection is top notch, so there can only be one source to blame, plus the fact that this also affects thousands of other players says that it's not just me. The poor servers make it virtually impossible to enjoy the game as you constantly worry about the risk of disconnecting and even if your not worried and your having great fun with friends, you may eventually disconnect anyways. Yes there are some of you who have never had any connection issues which is great, but people who feel the same as me regarding this issue are a large majority.
Unbelievably repetitive. When you complete the campaign, do all the strikes and patrols on the different planets you get the "is that it?" Feeling. Is this what $500M game brings nowadays? The campaign is nothing more then a joke, the strikes get boring, doing patrol bounties and other Vanguard bounties get stale and the daily stories are exactly that, just need to add the work "repeated". Even the Crucible is repetitive and quite boring after awhile but that is another topic. The game feels half done, some of you will say "Just wait for the DLC that will add more aspects to the game" while that may be true, the fact is they are selling us bits of the story that should have been in the campaign in the first place, even though it should be them selling us extra missions to a well done, complete campaign.
Crucible is enjoyable... For a while. I LOVED the multiplayer for a while, it was new, fun and exciting, but with 4 games modes and the occasional event such as Salvage and Iron Banner and only having 9 maps it soon dried up and became part of the repetitive cycle. Yes DLC while add new maps and maybe new game types but again that is no excuse to feed us a incomplete game and expect us to run with it for the next 10 years like they want us to.
I could go on, but I think these reasons are adequate enough to explain why I am fed up and will no longer give Bungie another chance with this game. It's a real shame as I expected so much from this game, but they falsely advertised and sold dreams. Again I'm not "hating", I'm voicing my frustration and posting it here as maybe a voice for others who feel the same. I am TOO excited for Halo 5 and that will hopefully regain my love for everything Bungie related. I mean they've only flopped ONE game so maybe this will be a great learning experience. Haters and immature children may post their negative, retarded comments if they wish.
Ahhhh by all these lovely comments you can truly see how lovely and supportive this community is. No I wasn't whining and no I wasn't an "announcement" that I've lost hope on Destiny, these were simply my opinions and thoughts on what make the game really boring, nothing more, but here are the immature fags throwing insults at me for voicing my opinions, even if you don't care for what I have to say, is there a need for the negativity towards me when I have done nothing to you?. On my part maybe I chose the wrong title, it did make me seem like I was someone important which maybe conveyed the wrong message, but all I wanted to do is maybe get enough comments and feedback that someone from Bungie might see this, see all the over threads like mine and put them together to bring forward the ideas of a large majority that believe what I believe. I've seen a few comments about "First World Issues" and how I'm "ungrateful" what? Because I'm talking about a video game? Now that is -blam!-ing ridiculous and idiotic. I didn't mean to anger so many people, like I said I just wanted to voice my opinions even if people "Don't Care" it's a forum I can create a post about anything Destiny related, some people care and that's enough, if no one cared about nothing on these forums, there would be no such thing as a forum. Just take that into consideration.

1 ReplyI 100% agree with this post. I had high expectations from Destiny, yet I haven't touched it since about 2 weeks after Crota went live. Came to the realization that it is another grindfest to add on top of the already grindfest. Lost interest, BIG TIME!

A game like this would never, ever had any success back in the mid 90's, but that is because of the players having been extremely demanding, plus, the game developers back then had an average salary and games were made with passion. Gaming today is different. It is all about the money. Put a product to the market, make a huge profit, whether the game meets the expectations of the players, the game devs don't care about. They earn much more than back then, they do what is required and they do not give a crap about your nor my opinion. Now look at the people that replied to you. This is the audience you get these days.People that put fancy pictures as their avatar, that do not care about other people's opinions, their requirements have dropped significantly compared to many older generation of players that are not content with every single garbage these days. Look at the video game review sites. Gamespot turned out to be just another site for simpletons for example. The simpletons nowadays fight over 1080p vs 999 p, something their eyes and brain does not even notice the difference of, yet, they fight over such none sense, because they have not the slightest clue about the mechanics and calculations behind it, yet, they grab and hold on to some paper from Tom's hardware reviews for example, and go on about it as if they are veteran aerospace engineers that know everything, yet, they are so lost in their own wrong imaginations, that most people in this forum will still disagree with me, that they can notice notable differences between 999p and 1080p when playing a game on a TV that is 46" or smaller.... Those people, the simpletons, they play this game because for them it is excellent. Your opinion nobody cares about, because in this individualistic world of today, it is sad to say, but you are on your own...these are the simpletons that consist of the most common forms of corporate slaves, that have nothing to say in the real world, absolutely nothing, so they act out all authoritarian and knowledgeable on PC game forums, so it is obvious that you will be getting harsh answers, to being a human being that brings out your perspective of the game. I hope you will find your fun in video gaming, but let me tell you, the future is grim, the gaming industry has changed, the games become simpler and more shooting and less thinking, the video game industry is becoming what the simpletons want it to become, brainless entertainment. You just have to get used to this and perhaps, playing older games from time to time will bring back good old memories as to how amazing those games used to be, when game devs cared about their fans, and when the many simpletons of today were still little sucklings while eating cheap garbage they were fed due to they having been born into families that are and always will be slaves to mega-corporations.

the 500M is not for this game....the 500m is going towards the whole lifespan of the game and future releases like exspansions or sequels. So get your facts straight and do some research first.

ok though i agree with what you say with 1 exception ALL mmo's are repetitive once you get the main part of the game done, i was done with the main content on STO and WOW few days after it was launched now i find myself farming constantly and replaying content but thats how it is and it will never change

I just lost interest in doing daily missions and the same stuff every week. I'll probably play Crucible for awhile, even though the lag is ridiculous and so are supers. I'm really disappointed they made a game that feels more like Halo 4 than their own games.

The 500m doesn't all go to the development of the game. It includes all the marketing and stuff. I do hope you enjoy your break and good luck with cod aw when it comes out.

You cant connect to the server? Happened to me before and I found out that the issue is in the router's built in firewall. You actually need to put the security to low instead of medium-high. I think what this guys problem is he play too much. Take a break!

You have to understand you just posted on an app that mostly contains bungie fanboys, your going to receive a lot of harsh and juvenile comments, but your points are all spot on and I appreciate them, I myself am getting a little worn down by the repetitiveness of this game and lack of content, and there is so many people blindly defending bungie instead of holding them accountable which will only give way to other companies using the same business model. If were being honest this game is only a shell of what was promised, and the expect us to pay out $200+ dollars in the end to have fragments added here and there, ethically what they are doing/did is wrong, anyone who disagrees doesn't know the definition of dishonesty. I will end by saying I still play and enjoy this game, however the amount of enjoyment I get is rapidly fading now, I'm doing the same exact things week in and week out, and apparently there are no changes to be made to this pattern till December, and even then their not giving us a whole lot.

If issues in a game can't be called out then it's clear fanboyism. I didn't need to play much of the game to know what it was. It's a boring repetitive grind-fest and that is much clearer now. I have many other games I enjoy far greater and would much rather spend my time with. I see no fun in a game where it's sole purpose is about grinding to get higher rated armor which may look worse than the armor you like wearing for the sake to grind the same thing again so you can get more armor that looks stupid ... all for the sake of a number next to your name. A number not equated to skill but rather gobs or repetitive tasking over and over again lol

Destiny is trying to be an "MMO Lite" and MMO's have their dailies and you grind. Nature of the beast.

Take a freakin break from the game man! Of course you are going to feel burned out on it you put over 170 hours into it so far!!! Jesus. I've followed this game since announcement, they never once lied to us. The dev cycle went through its normal changes and revisions. They showed but the game "could" be. You put it on that pedestal yourself and have nobody but yourself to blame. Move on to another game for now. You'll be back in December.

I often think people actually believe that "farewell destiny" posts are somehow addressed to them in any way... Is it so hard to understand that people make them in hopes the developers see enough of them over time to realize something its not working right in the game and take action to prevent more players from jumping ship?

See, this is why people should (1.) have low expectations of a game before release / don't believe the hype and (2.) always buy the collector editions of games (like me) and sell all the extras on eBay (presell items before game release) and literally break even (or even profit most of the time) and still have the ("free") game in hand! 'Nuff said.

And that you could go to places beyond the asteroid field and even beyond Jupiter. Just the fact that this game could have been so much more frustrates me. I got the limited edition so I think I may wait for Dlc. But I may just trade it in and get warframe platinum or a bf4 Dlc because this game, to be honest is complete utter bullshit. I find all of your reasons to also be the same reasons I don't play it anymore. Whenever I start to load it up, I realise what I will be doing. I would be doing bounties then some strikes which I have already done before, then what. The raid? Done that before as well. Nothing new. Where as in a game such as warframe, or bf4, I have never gotten bored while playing it. It keeps surprising me every time I play it and it is what drives me to play those games. I am even considering trading the game in because I haven't touched it in ages and i want to get at least some of my money back.

1 ReplyWell im going to put it like this. This game isnt an MMORPG. I aready have over 130 hours in. I say i got more than my $60 worth of enjoyment. People are expecting the game to last forever but it wont, nothing does. My favorite game of all time(Powerstone 2) I probobly have less time logged than the fairly young destiny. Its a game made for enjoyment, if you no longer have fun, stop playing it. So many swan songs....
