Deej, A Unique Kind of Feedback!

THE SUGGESTION STARTS AT THE 2ND LAST PARAGRAPH. Hello Deej, (if this comes across your eyes)...I want to start out with saying that the forums are throwing lots of things at you and Bungie. Unfortunately, some people have a bashful time bashing on Bungie, but, there are strong and potential ideas that could find its way into the game from the forums. Many people however, are being frustrated when good ideas are mentioned, and they are not implemented in the game/ drawn attention to. There are many reasons for this: 1.) They can't add new parts of the game when old parts still need fine-tuning/ fixing. i.e. pushing The Templar & Atheon off of the map. Now I know that many are still complaining about this but let me explain, Bungie's intentions for the raid were to throw the most difficult obstacle at its players and to see how they would prevail. Well, many of us found a "strategy" how to do it. We prevailed. Simply, Bungie is still throwing the hardest obstacle in the game at the players, by making the raid harder. 2.) "Nerf Cry 4", As easy as of a hot fix it seems, Bungie seems to be in a never-ending time gate through balancing weapons. This is merely caused by the community requesting for nerfs/buffs for such a variety of weapons. Bungie has its hands full with just this one function of the game. (Not trying to make it sound unimportant.) Having Bungie "fixing" weapons in this game is just taking them away from their time to improve the game with new items, side missions, or different UI mechanics we've all been wanting. 3.) As basic as this sounds, there are way too many ideas for Bungie to take all of them into for consideration. People need to stop acting like its the end of the world if they don't see a flawless suggestion 14 minutes after its been posted. Not only that but, what if they were just in progress of making something on their own? For them to completely stop their work and start near to square one on a completely new idea will have many cons to it as well. People from the forums are going to hate on the idea no matter what it is and say things like, "why don't they listen to my ideas?" or "how about we do this instead", trying to win over Bungie. More importantly, people would be even more impatient on Bungie dropping work (like DLC) to make an idea they are pretty much foreign to. A similar reason, many do not think of is, that like other game developers, Bungie is in it for the money too. They have strong competition in specifically, November so they are on a timed schedule to make sure they are getting sales/ having people buy DLC. Okay, so let me start off this suggestion with something that most of us can relate to. Destiny, when first played seemed amazing, as many other games do when nearly all of the content is unknown. We appreciated the little things such as the classes, appearance, race and other aesthetic features when first formally introduced. We adored the sparrow and the way the game flowed from scenery to scenery along with epic boss fights. Looking back, these moments are what made the game different. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of the story-telling, but, why am I still compelled to play this game? It's because of all the little things added up. We constantly grind out nightfall missions, and the raid even though we have already done it. Why? There are many reasons, we want the modifier, raid gear (if RNGeesus is willing), or because of the strange coins for Xur. These small things tie in with each other to make the game enjoyable without the "complete" story. Many of the topics on the forums are related to the story because it is lacking. But they really don't want to admit, they enjoy the game's system of play style. Now i'm not indicating there should be filler material for Bungie to take dedication away from the story, but listen to this. Even though I hate to say the story is "Unchangeable", it really is. Its pretty obvious that basically adding a whole new story/elaborating is tedious/ impossible given with the time and money. Maybe, Bungie caught themselves doing poorly on the story, and attempted already to fix it with the use of Grimoire Cards. This is harsh to say, but perhaps they gave up and will try to avoid what has been done. (With DLC). Now, the next paragraph may seem to contradict everything in the paragraphs above, but, the reason I chose to type it anyway was because it seemed like a completely different approach to what should be improved on Destiny, than other ideas seen on the forums. With that being said, I'm not going to claim this idea is better than the others or anything like that nor will I care/get angry if they don't use the advice that I'm about to give. I also want to note I am not trying to offend Bungie/ Deej in any way. Like how the small things tie in, I would like to see the combination of two features in the game I'm slightly disappointed with. I'll just go ahead and say them proudly: Eve Lavante and character re-customization. Eva Lavante, a vendor in the tower, has a "refreshing inventory", however she just sells emblems that are pointless and the same shaders 24/7. As for character re-customization, you should be able to change your appearance if you're not happy with it. Now to combine/change these features, I thought of something else in the game I was a fan of. These would be the tower events. Although Iron Banner just created more grinding for cool-looking items, the Queen's Wrath brought lots of potential and still can. When the Queen's Wrath was launched, I thought there were all-new exclusive missions only for a limited time. These missions however were just recycled, disappointing missions. There was also a "bug" where you would obtain Queen Armor every time upon completing one of her missions. I think that would be fair if Bungie had made the Queen's Wrath its own missions. Obviously, that's a lot of time for a one time event but, they can just have her make a comeback in the future. This would also be a very good idea on Bungie's part and time well spent, because these missions could give Bungie the opportunity to explain the story post game to make it interesting/ unique from other games. This would satisfy most of the story-wanting guardians. You would also have to be ready for the events (Or the people who are interested in the story would wait/play for them.) Although these events may take more time than the type of event I am going to suggest, they would be worth it and definitely make the game better and inviting players back into the realm. So, the other type of tower event I want to suggest, would definitely reflect on my "small things" argument. There should be holiday events that have special items. Now this shouldn't have Bungie spending all of its time, because these holidays are pretty short, i.e. Halloween. But they could contain likable items. What I was thinking is that we've already had an event that elaborated on PvE and one for PvP, but what if there was one added just for fun? I've noticed that there is an area in the event area that is similar to that of Eva Levante's work space. There should be a vendor (similar to the Guardian Outfitter) that charges glimmer for every physical trait you want to alter. (I don't know about skin color, and definitely not race.) But, markings and facial structure should be changeable. (I know i'm not the only one who is getting sick of his character's face.) This would also be for a limited time so servers aren't filled with 16/16 blind in one eye, guardians or something dumb. What I was thinking is that there could be exclusive markings for specific events, i.e. a pumpkin on your cheek, close to Halloween. Or better yet, markings maybe on your guns or armor (What if your SUROS Regime had "Trick or Treat" written across the top of it? Also, the new outfitter could sell limited time-only shaders. i.e. orange and black for Halloween. (I know i'm using a lot of Halloween examples). Another vendor that could come buy could sell Legendary sparrows or ships. They are pretty scarce in the game and I've mainly only seen them from Raid prizes. This would somewhat help against RNG and there would be cool bounties associated with them. i.e. run over and kill 20 enemies with yours sparrow, or travel a certain distance with your sparrow. This would bring in a more variety among the items especially with ships as no one likes the never-ending brown only, rare ships. Basically what I'm saying is, I like the idea of tower events, but I don't want them to be limited to PvP and PvE only. I know this wasn't the strongest idea to use but I figured it would be worth a shot to throw out. I also want to say sorry for errors/ maybe some parts not making sense because I very much rushed this. But, I definitely want to know what you guys think so please comment, like, do whatever you can to keep this post alive for other people to see.

  • One thing I'd suggest to you though is make a summary section of your post its got good ideas but too many people are lazy and won't even read it after clicking your topic

    • I like your ideas, and I think neat little things like this would make the game a little more interesting. Also I think it would be cool if there were some tower events in which you would have to defend the tower from the fallen or hive or some other invading force.

    • Its definitely IMO a good idea that u came up with I'd like to see bungie comment on this and maybe even do something like this in the future .. It can keep a game fresh and lively even if there isn't any new missions or anything ... Could keep the animation/art crew busy during times their side of the work is slow .. And programing these shouldn't be as complex as the many things I'm sure their programmers are working on Added to that their devs could use these events to show off a bit of humour and their personality maybe increasing their morale and helping keep their minds fresh when going back to coding the main game aspects through even my own experience and currently incomplete education in the same area I can certainly understand programmers block aka iv got a syntax error of ; but I can't find where out of the million lines it is usually this is easily solved by a fresh set of eyes or by taking a break and coming back to the problem at hand later
