Seriously. The question gets posted like every other day. Lots of them "Ima girl I wanna know" but unless I see tits then its a guy saying he is a girl.
Does it matter? Remember in the halcyon days of gaming when every character was just male by default? Be happy you can choose and live with it, who cares what the motivation is of another player to play a particular gender.

Edited by Auriventris: 10/23/2014 9:51:00 PMI'm a serious roleplayer and Character personality/Story geek... I find it to hard to gain an attachment to my characters when there males .... With Female character's I feel a sense of protection & attachment and even affection if I create her story correctly. (of which I think is a natural male thing) that allows for great role play and Character development in my head. Take my awoken female hunter for example, She's gorgeous and she's adorable, but she's also a badass space marine! Lol... I took all those factors in and created a back story of her life in the Destiny universe that Is currently 3000 words long and still going... I could never do that with most male characters. Besides any Spartan or my titan Exo that is. :P But this is just my personal reason for using female character's :3

I play as female charcaters most of the time mainly because most guy toons in game look like steroid driven male models .. Plus armor always seems to look more nails on a female ..not more sexy just more menacing... like this b**** is gonna kick someones ass kinda look. Gamers forget rp these days they firget its a game and seem to have the intension to chat up or annoy a female gamer .. they are gamers same as guys at the end of the day .. and in most cases better than the guys who harrass them.

Because they prefer to look at a female while playing a game. That's not a good thing, since it means you are physically attracted to in-game avatars, and that's all kinds of crazy. I see an in-game avatar as an extension of myself, therefore I try to keep them close to the original ;)

I assume 100% of female characters are men, because women don't play games. And the women who do play games look like men.
-
I just think it's irritating that everyone auto assumes I am a man because so many men play female characters. But male characters are ugly usually, so I understand why. Still kind of sexist when men say they play female characters so they can "stare at that hot ass" when they play.
-
I have to assume they got caught up in a Crying Game situation years ago and never recovered... That is the ONLY reason I can think of that warrants the odd behavior of the " I wonder" why crowd...
-
Cause female chars look sleeker and better than some fat bulky looking dude running around
-
Because if guys didn't play as girls then the future of Earth in Destiny would look pretty grim. How will we repopulate the Earth with a 10-1 guy to girl ratio. Men need to start playing as woman! We can save the future of the human and awoken race 1 sex change at a time!

I play a female character, mainly because I don't like the way the guy looks in most games. I think they're too bulky in destiny.
-
Well in my case it's just common curiosity. I got nothin' against people playing as women, just wonder why.
-
It prevents awkward moments if everyone plays his/her gender. Then again, it's awkward enough if people really consider you that way in avideo game. ... You a girl? (^~^) xDDD
-
Anyone who get's mad about a guy playing a girl is basically admitting they tried to hit on female avatars and got quite the shock. It's painfully obvious when you get random invites as a female but none when a male.

I remember a few girls on WoW that played Male toons so they didnt get Harassed. I also remember a guy from WoW that was in my guild who always played with this other person that was playin a female character. " which he thought was a girl " and the "guy" playin the chick never talked on ventrilo during raids etc.. in about a years time the "guy" pretending to be a chick came clean. Poor guy lol I have also heard of guys on WoW pretending to be Females for special treatment. Gifts.. gold...etc. Note: * I was neither person * Personally I play both genders depending on how they look with the armor "gear" etc. I like my Male Exo Warlock he looks pretty menacing. I like my Female Human Titan because they dont look like walking vending machine. Im working on a Female Awoken Hunter just because Curvy and Cunning is awesome. .
-
I think some classes look better as female. Male Hunters look ridiculous.
-
Im not sure i even care why people care.
-
I'm a girl and I don't see why it's a bad thing, girls play as guys too
-
I like looking at a womans butt better than at a male butt. But in all seriousness I don't like how the guys faces look. I only have a male exo Titan, because it doesn't have a skin face.
-
I look at it this way: I play as a female character because I like women.
-
Cause its weird. A normal guy doesn't choose a female character. Those that do are way to into the fantasy of it all or dont care about anything in their lives.
-
Because some People are self entitled idiots who think playing a game a different way to them is WRONG! :o ...... Male hunter and female warlock on my account because a female warlock looks better than the male variant simple as that.
-
It's because permavirgins hate the feeling of confusion they get when they discover they've been cracking on to a dude all along.
-
You're playing a robot, alien or human with triple the lifespan. Wielding weapons of mass destruction and forms of magic. You're pretty much immortal and fighting countless aliens, robots and magical creatures. If we want to be accurate, I think the female/male argument is the last of your worries
-
so hang on, what if it was a girl playing as a male?
-
Video game logic dictates "if it's a guy, it's a guy. If it's a girl, it's a guy. Unless you know the irl, it's a guy." So what if I play a female character? I just like to stare at my sexy badass' **word that rhymes with badass**. Seriously, you can look at your guy's junk in town, my chick has a nice rack.
-
I mean.. It's not like people care that I chose my characters to be exo. Same concept should apply with gender. It's those that care who should be pitied.
