1) Earth to Venus to Mars to Moon - to Saturn. He assumes this is talking about story progression but could in fact just be listing the locations available in the game. If someone asked me what locations you can visit in Destiny I wouldn't say "wait one second I just need to remember what order the story happens in before I tell them to you". Second aspect to this is that reddit post about story content being cut and rewritten the year before was more than likely a massive troll. 2) Thunderlord didn't need materials and used a talent point system and had different perks than the current thunderlord. This can be explained by simple combat balancing and tweaking of the systems they used. If you rename talent point to "ascendent energy" it could be basically exactly the same. Why they changed it - who knows, but I'm sure it impacted gameplay in a positive fashion after copious testing during development and QA. 3) Chest with engrams coming out of it - this is actually pretty cool visually. But maybe it caused issues with gear progression being too quick if people farmed chests regularly. There's at least one legendary and one rare engram coming out of that chest - it would have to be a very rare chest to get because it would otherwise break the game. 4) The mercury cut-scene is exactly that. It is a loading screen. It is not a "in-game engine rendered level" as implied. A level takes significantly more time to create than a simple loading screen. Plus we know there is a crucible map for mercury so this isn't all that far-fetched. One of the DLCs involves the Vex and perhaps you visit Mercury to hit them at a planet that they have completely controlled. We will see. 5) They've also changed the colours and icons - these look way better in the finished product now. And perhaps they decided to restrict weapons to levels (like nearly every RPG ever created) because if you have a level 1 character randomly get a drop that is more geared towards the end-game it would significantly break the game. Imagine picking up a suros or a mythoclast on that first mission through random chance. The game would be boringly easy. I'm glad they restricted this as it makes levelling up to get weapons that you can see are powerful, but not use, more enticing. 6) The tower layout changed. I don't care. Maybe it'll unlock with DLC or a different event. The same way there is the big gate near the speaker and the same way there was the area that opened for the Iron Banner and Queen's bounties. Maybe it took too long to get to the area, maybe it was only for a cinematic that they cut because they hated it - we don't know. 7) Queen's brother. The voice actor changed - good. He isn't necessarily a different character or "cut from the story". One of the DLCs is related to the Queen and the Fallen. Maybe he comes down to Earth for some reason and the City doesn't want him there. Maybe it didn't make sense for him to leave the Queen and the Reef in the story we play through now. Maybe it was awkward story telling that didn't lead anywhere or have much of a purpose. We don't know, but it isn't necessarily something that was simply "cut" for no reason. 8) Saturn's rings. See point about mercury and cutscenes at #4. 9) Ship with dead orbit logo. Looks ugly as hell. Maybe it means extra faction stuff, maybe it just means some more cosmetics. 10) Room from strike looks different. Means nothing. 11) Playable reef area. If the story for the reef (beyond what we have now) wasn't ready in the timeframe that they expected it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that they would create a "tower-like" level first. Removing enemy spawns and all the other things that go into a "wild" area would make it significantly easier to develop. And imagine having a random reef tower now before the wider story is ready. It would just feel out of place. A year and a half is a very, very long time in development terms and I'm not surprised if the associated content simply wasn't ready in time. 12) Armed guards. Sure bring these back. 13) They changed some of the characters and plot but "The Archive" mission remains. This doesn't mean it's a dramatic change, they might have just preferred the Stranger. 14) Ships - who knows, maybe they changed it or built the models up a bit more. 15) Faction wars. Doesn't mean this was functional - could be a placeholder. Bounty sounds like the daily and weekly challenges. 16) Reef again. Forest. Don't know. But not necessarily some huge thing, maybe just an area too technical for the last-gen consoles, or not enough content to warrant the section, or maybe it's still being developed and will be released later. To address your points - the Destiny IP has a 10-year plan. Not the first Destiny game. Barely any game lasts 10 years with a solid mainstream following. I don't know if they'll do the small update releases like CoD and how they'll price it - but I hope not. I presume because Bungie still has control over the majority of the direction of the IP that they wouldn't allow this to happen.

Are you old enough to remember how much an nes game used to cost? How about n64 or ps2? Games hit $60 with last generation and that was 10 years ago. Games cost a lot more to make these days and yet the price remains $60. How are companies supposed to make up that difference? Donations? They do it by selling dlc and other money generating schemes like collectors editions. If you feel uncomfortable paying these price points you can always wait a few years for the definitive edition to come out. I do this with many games I want to play, it just requires a little patience.

How would you pay 60$ for it when right now at this very moment you can buy both expansions for a total of 34.99? Wut

They aren't getting $100 out of me every year, that's for sure. All of my friends have stopped playing, for the most part. Destiny could be dead to me after these first DLCs, which I have already purchased.

Why don't we actually wait and see what the DLC is before jumping off to wild conclusions.

Honestly, did you expect more? Their entire game hinges on raid and loot grinding, which is what they are giving us. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but a couple more game modes would be nice (horde mode for example)

Please name 1 game you can play for 200 hours without repeating content.

Just simply move on. im not a whiner or bad tempered player but after a while these kinda threads are the real grind, they make the ingame grind a pure slice of heaven in comparison.

Let this be a lesson to those who pay up front for DLC that ends up being a complete rip off My friend does it all the time and ends up hating more the half the games he buys the season passes for. Just a waste of money
