Destiny. A Universe With Promise.

Destiny. A game teased as Bungie's most ambitious project yet, teased as an evolution in storytelling as well as player interaction. But following the release of Destiny, it has split the internet in half. Many love it, many hate it. But for what justification? Is this real the end of gaming? Is this a failure by Bungie standards? The answer: hell f*cking no. I'll elaborate. Don't lie to yourself. We were all drawn into the universe of Destiny. It's storytelling techniques at the beginning were consistent as ever: (the rest of the game is debatable) the execution of gameplay, music, and cinematic events had us filled to the brim with excitement! But is the rest of the game truly horrendous? That's an interesting question. Destiny's story isn't terrible. But don't get me wrong, it's not great either. If anything, it hasn't been presented well and ultimately falls short of all the promise generated from it's early levels. To be specific, the story suffers from: - A lack of memorable characters - Terribly placed exposition - Overused horde mode - Lack of cinematics - Slow inconsistent pacing But that's just it. Here's what it does right: - Dynamic music placement - Addicting action - Stunning visual animations - Interesting enemies - Strong start - Amazing cinematics (albeit a few present) - Great lore And as you can see, Destiny has done more right than wrong. Destiny has the seeds to a potentially great universe, and has done successfully in keeping players coming time and time again back to playing. But Destiny DID fall short of it's hype. That is an irrefutable fact. And because of this, angry little shits have disregarded anything good about this game. It's disgusting. And what are they complaining about? - DLC (Activision. What else is new?) - Reward system (Fair argument.) - Atheon push (You're not supposed to do that, dipshit.) - Cryptarch? (It's been patched, jackass.) - OP weapons in Crucible? (Nope. You just suck.) None of these reasons can justify calling this game a piece of shit. It's not. It's a solid, captivating gameplay experience with a promising universe that has yet to express itself, completely at Activision's greed. I ask of my fellow Guardians to give the Dark Below a shot: It's story seems promising, and I hope to see more players coming. Besides, if the content is meaningful, couldn't that justify the price tag? I just feel that Destiny gets too much hate for the little things it gets wrong. This game is a 8.75 at best. Give it a chance. Anyway, with that out of the way... Anyone else getting the Dark Below? I need more PS4 buddies D:

  • Cod:AW, Far Cry 4, GTA:PS4 Edition, Dragon Age: Inquisition. These are just a few of the games whose "destiny" it will be to replace Destiny on my PS4. And unless it changes from the unceasing boredom simulator it now is, I can't see me playing Destiny ever again If this shallow, hollow, boring games does not get radically fixed soon, the player base will evaporate. Its gonna be hilarious when the pitiful defenders of this disappointing travesty, find themselves alone in the Tower, wondering where everybody went.
