So, annoyed that everyone has the vanguard warlock coat that's open in the front i went on a crusade to raise my dead orbit rank to buy one of their chest pieces. Just to find that i didn't like it (could have been solved by giving a bigger preview)
But nah i walked it off, was a little annoyed and went on my way to buy the other one, and it looked exactly the same save for some straps! And as i looked at the other factions all their gear looked the same as well, the only exception being the helms and gloves having noticeable difference between each other, but the same for all factions.
Where's the character to these armors if they all look the same? Even more so once you throw a shader on?
Dead orbit should look dark and menacing. All tattered and foreboding.
New monarchy should look regal and refined. Like you are a paladin.
Future war cult should look like you are ready to take on the entire world with armor plating and reserve ammo.
But nah, little faction emblem to set them apart, and don't even get me started on the fact raid gear is the only way yo reach max level and you only have one set. So every level 30 is going to look like a pallet swapped version of each other.

The dead orbit auto rifle is a waste as well..

I think more importantly each faction gear should have varied defense values along with other varied stats and perks. There is no point in leveling up a different faction after you have hit rank 3 on one. One little perk does not make a difference. Plus, the gear offered by factions should not be random drops. The lack of customization is ridiculous.

LMAO you say shader like we have access to a variety of color options! No no no, you get the same crap shaders on occasion. The customization in this game is non existent.

When I finally had a piece of random (non raid) chest gear drop for my Warlock I was overjoyed that it no longer looked like my character was wearing a moo-moo. The best looking Warlock chest is a rare piece. The second and third best are rare and uncommon. The exotic Void fang Vestments are a distant 4th. The starting jacket thing actually looks quite nice and distinctive with shaders.

Edited by Black Fox: 10/23/2014 12:57:39 AMWelcome to the club. Also check me out, I'm satisfied but they could be cooler. I've yet to see someone else fully decked out.

Sad but mostly true...

Kind of a big fail bungie.

Yeah, agree with all of this. All 30s looking like cookie cutters is lame. I like the idea of faction gear looking unique besides the stupid little logo stamped somewhere.
