Raid, raid, raid...dependency

First of all sorry about my English. Not my native language. I'm playing destiny since release date. This is the first time I play a game of this type (MMO) and the beta access definitely convinced me to buy the final version. Until now I was loving the game despite I don't have too much time to play it. Family comes first and I play an average of 1h/day. My guardian is a level 27 Titan, with 1 exotic gear and 1 exotic weapon. I'm doing everything to get ascendants to upgrade my gear, but at this point upgrading my gear (except for the exotic) is useless, because I need 3 more "raid gear" to reach 30 light for each one. I didn't have complete any raid because it's difficult to find people to play for 2/3 days in a row with all the same people at a given time. Even for myself is hard to schedule to play raids. I'm pretty disappointed because we are all raid dependents if we want to achieve level 29/30. And even if I could find people to schedule a raid playthrough, this cycle should be repeated every week and at the end of the day we will rely on luck to get a reward gear that we don't have yet. Maybe bungie should give the option to matchmaking for raid, with a little bit less rewards or something, but "incapacitating " the players to reach level 29/30 just because they don't have enough availability/friends to play together weekly is frustrating. By now, even to make a team and play the weekly strike on level 28 is hard.... Getting 6 people to play raid is almost impossible for me. I'm starting to think and maybe I'll give up playing the game. Maybe in the future bungie gives us new solutions etc. I'm frustrated too by hear that the dlc will maintain this "raid dependency " with a new moon raid to get gear that make possible to achieve level 32. Are someone experiencing my "problem" too? I love the game, but maybe I don't have have availability and friends to go further. Despite all of that I think bungie did an amazing job. Best regards to everyone

Really? That's weird. I cannot even log into the Tower on my 28 to pick up Bounties or Ammo Synth without getting messages to join for a raid. And if you're in the VoG longer than 3 hours, you're doing something wrong.

If your focus is solely on level, then I'd say your not missing much. Without raid gear, you can get to 28. The difference between 28 and 30 is almost nothing, especially in terms of PVP or Iron Banner, from what we have experienced so far. Bungie said all throughout pre-release of the game that not everyone will complete the raid. I think someone would be crazy not to try it, because I feel the raid, even with its glitches, is by far the most fun co-op FPS experience any company has presented us with to this day. you can easily break the raid down into 3 play sessions; from start to fighting the Templar, from the Templar fight to atheons door, and then atheons door to the end. Each session, including startup time searching on the forum for a group to completion, shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes. Once you become adjusted to the raid, you can accomplish the entire thing in an hour or less. So far, my fastest 6 man experience without cheesing anything, has been 50 minutes ( normal mode ). I even assembled an almost entirely " new to the raid " group last week of all 27's, and it took us 1:00 to get to the final fight. Thats pretty darn good time for a novice group. Good luck guardian!

        • Thank you all for your answers. I'll to use the forums when I feel ready. By the way, I have 2 questions: Did you read some guide before trying the raid for the first time? Is it needed? If I am in a checkpoint and want to continue the raid with another guardians, is it possible? Or we need to start over again? Regards

          • You don't need 2/3 days dude - if you join a group you can get through it in a few hours tops!

          • Hey buddy, if you're not going to do the raid on hard, getting to 30 means almost nothing.

            • i see where you're coming from but the raid honestly doesnt take 2-3 days to complete, more like 2-3 hours if your group of strangers knows anything at all. matchmaking is not going to solve this, most people that play this game have their heads up their ass and have no idea what to do, doing the raid requires dedication and knowledge of whats going on, if you seriously want to get matched with a bunch of noobs thats fine by me but i can guarantee you that you wont finish the raid with noobs. finding people in threads for raids works just as fine, the difference is you have to ability to pick and choose who comes along and usually comes with requirements such as must have mic or must be lv something, when the game does it for you you have no idea who joins and i doubt you feel like jumping to orbit every 5 minutes because some kid has no mic and is lv 25.
