This video really hits the spot with how I'm feeling. I love this game, but why don't I really feel like I love this game. It's hard to explain & this video touches on most of the reasons.

In this case, despite my best efforts to ignore it completely, it is becoming more and more clear to me that there is well polished content that didn't make it into the final game. That in and of itself is not that big of a deal. However, Bungie needs to tread very carefully. If ANY of this stuff, playable areas in particular, are released in a DLC package, players are going to go apeshit. Personally, if I see the Reef as a hub area like this video suggests or a forested area released in DLC, I will not be happy. That means quite clearly that they held back content that was polished enough to show over a year before release. Cutting stuff over feature creep or needing to shore up the game for gold is one thing, but removing chunks of the game that are obviously highly polished as of February 2013 to sell later as DLC is not okay. I tolerate DLC, I've never liked it. There is no way in hell I'd stand for something like this. I almost wish they had just charged a flat fee of $100 for the game (like $70 for Donkey Kong 64 way back when) that included all of the content they had planned to release. At least that would've come across as less manipulative or deceptive. It might've cut into their day one sales on Destiny 1 but they wouldn't have risked people overlooking the DLC , 2nd or 3rd, etc. Destiny releases on the basis that consumers feel like they were betrayed.
