Xur should be reworked or removed, *added suggested fixes*

*First couple minutes of the video hint on what was said over and over about the gear and what it was supposed to stand for. Regardless of the many other issues, Xur is the epitome of the exact opposite of what they were marketing. Lets be honest, no one really really loves the RNG system but Xur is not the answer and will be/is a problem. Exotics are supposed to be the rarest of rare and the beholder should be so happy to have one that they would go and tell all there friends how lucky they were to get it. Every time they pull it out during a strike or other event people should hear or see it and ask what the heck it is. Someone wielding an exotic would be so proud they would carry it into everything even if it wasn't the greatest gun (barring raids or events needing better gear). Exotic armor should be just as rare and flaunted. One would be so happy to come across it that they would wear it even if the perks were useless to them. Everyone would see the armor and be envious. A week or so before I was able to start playing endgame content and know of Xur I saw sunbreakers for the first time. They looked so amazing that I actually took a screenshot on my ps4. Now, not only did I cycle through them but they are a dime a dozen. Xur sells these items for basically free. This not only devaluates the item but it over saturates the community. When the ice breaker went on sale from Xur that was primarily the only sniper I heard in both PVP and PVE. This in its entirety completely contradicts what an exotic should be. Now not only was the gun I carried being used all over the place, I now felt ashamed to even have it. It was so common that I could have used a white colored common sniper and actually had the rarest gun in that playlist. Not only is the price point a major problem (coming from someone who only has one lv 20+ character) considering how easy it is to buy but the game cannot support this for long. There is not enough exotic content to allow this to happen. Only a month and I have cycled through 4 exotic pieces of armor. This wouldn't be a problem if the game had loads more but it doesn't as far as we know. Unless we don't know, all classes seem to have 2-3 exotic armors per section (although I didn't find many boots) for now. We will run out soon, and unless the DLC inevitable exotics aren't locked to DLC owners that will be all she wrote. Aside from oversaturating the market, making the rarest guns in the game the most common and potentially running out of content, Xur is what is wrong with gaming today. Granted no one really likes RNG, Xur is still giving the entitled the rarest stuff for doing almost nothing. Why should I constantly play strike playlists or raids every week for those engrams or possibly exotic drops just to get something amazing and then have Xur give it away next weekend? That's a slap in the face. Xur should sell legendary items. This should be where legendary items can be bought with random perks and the price should still go up. He should have one exotic engram item that can be bought for 40 motes of light or more. Buying something from xur should always make the player ask himself "well should I buy this or wait for next week?" and not "I likey this one, can't wait to buy whatever I want next week too". Not only should there be a price increase on strange coins but there should be a cap on them just like there is for marks and glimmer, sorry to the individuals using 3 characters (you can still farm shards and energies :) ). Instead of reworking teleportation mechanics or where a relic can be taken to, we should look at Xur. Bungie said early on something about explaining how you came across a certain exotic and how awesome that would be, ashame when people see exotics now they can simply think 'Xur'. In the end, exotics should be exotic. Edit: It seems like a lot of you read the title and just responded.. My sole purpose more so is to have Xur be reworked then to have him removed. Options could be: 1. He sells legendary items with different perks/abilities. Love that armor but hate that it only has strength and not discipline? Keep an eye on Xur. Want your favorite looking weapon to have better reload perks? Keep an eye on Xur. In this situation he could still keep the regular exotic engram. I actually wouldn't mind if he had one armor and one weapon engram. I would still like to see a price increase on strange coins here as well as a cap, negotiable. Also to account for 3 different classes, Xur should can carry more items with him. 2. Keep Xur exactly the same but with a revised price scheme. 40 strange coins for all exotics with a 50 strange coin cap. This is my favorite fix as it will instill that "should I buy or wait" mentality as well as not allowing people to buy 1-2 exotics a week. This will also be a price point for a lot that will make an exotic actually worth something and not just handed out. 3. xLethalLethargy had an idea about having him sell exotic bounties. This is a good idea and would make it to where those who just want to be given free exotics would still have to put time into the game to get them. This is also an amazing idea because it would stop people from buying 1-2 exotics a week as it will clogg up there bounty slots. This idea sounds better and better the more I think about it. He suggested a higher price point as well which may need to be in place if the bounties could be done and returned within a day or two.

Let's clarify, cause there's a disconnect here somewhere. Btw, you have come across in your posts as intelligent and as a stand up guy. Which is why I'm clarifying here. Quoted from Bungie Community manager within the video OP provided for his reasoning to change or Remove Xûr David D: "YOUR destiny is what ->you<- make of it. YOUR destiny is something that ->you<- are in full control over. There's a lot of different ways TO PLAY this game. There's a lot of different experiences that we're packing into this game. And the way those paths unfold in front of you will be the choices that ->you<- make". O_O I'm not arguing with you dude. I'm quoting what David said. And unfortunately, and I really dislike doing this because I spent four years working with lawyers and judges, you've basically defeated yourself by basing your argument (because you are saying I'm arguing) on what David is saying. At the very beginning he states "YOU" (that's each individual player), are making your own destiny (by definition the player individually determines their own) with your "full control" over it (you control your destiny with the choices you make). The way (Xûr the vendor) that those paths (obtaining rewards through earning coin and buying your gear is a PATH) unfold in front of you WILL BE the choices (a players own choice, made by them) that YOU (each individual player) make. Your video is proof, and fully clarifies that XÛR is a CHOICE that EVERY PLAYER has the right to select taking. For you to campaign against any player taking that path, or by saying Bungie is "slapping you in the face" for providing a path for players to chose, is in fact you attempting to disallow exactly what David said in this video. You are in fact voicing you don't want players to have that path and choice, you are stating you don't want that path others take to reward them. He said that the players have "FULL CONTROL OVER THEIR DESTINY". Not "The guy who doesn't like the path others take to restrict it because he doesn't like it". You, and your apparent goal, is to restrict or block or undo the path Bungie gave players to "chose". Yes, I've watched the video. Yes, I've understood it. What he states about each players freedom of a path to take is what they gave us. The ONLY players who are attempting to alter the paths of how we forge our destiny... are the players like you who ignored what he said. It's each persons choice to take the path of killing bad guys at high difficulty to go for the gold and enjoy their rewards meeting Xur on that path. He stated it's OUR RIGHT TO PICK THAT PATH. Not YOU. He stated it's OUR DESTINY to forge. Not YOU to alter it, decide it's difficulty, or deem it unworthy. He stated the PATHS that unfold are by OUR CHOICES.... not YOU, or anybody else who says it shouldn't be allowed. Bottom line unfortunately is you defeated yourself in this. The whole time, every moment you spent basing your argument on "how the game should make you feel" you ignored the fundamental basis for the game by it's very title. It's each players Destiny to pick a path. And your destiny was spent trying to restrict players from reaching their own from the very things he stated. It's our choices. Not "the guy who feels slapped determines our choices". We decide our path. And you are telling Bungie to restrict what they offered us. The freedom of choice, and to alter our destiny because YOU don't like it. I'm sorry it had to end this way, you seem like a nice person, TRUELY. But you don't have the right to alter the "choices" Bungie gave us. Anything beyond this post if it makes you feel better the last word can be yours if you wish. But David defeated you in your own argument. Good luck in your campaign in altering the paths we the players make based on how you FEEL we should reach OUR "Destiny".
