I'm interested in genuine opinions on Xur, here is my take : I think he should be removed from the game, but before you scoff and stop reading, listen to why : I am against the argument that Xur makes exotics free - cause he does not. You have to grind coins, even with 3 chars that only yields at most 1 - 2 exotics, and getting other coins is completely random (as is the normal way of getting an exotic). So don't mistake me with some of the other people who cry that Xur = free exotics, that isn't my argument. My argument is that I think he defeats what exotics *should be. These unattainable things that only a few people have here and there. To even get an exotic bounty you have to complete MANY many bounties, and some of the exotic bounties are crazy hard. So i'm totally ok with that...but other than that, I think exotics should be a random thing, that you can only attain by simply playing copious amounts of the game or completing the raid. They *should be something that people see and say "damn, you lucky bastard, i want that gun" Not something that people see and say "I'll work all week and get that Friday". I don't think people who buy from Xur are taking the easy way out, cause they grind just as much as anyone else, except they know what they are working for. But that is my point, I don't know if exotics are something you should be able to be guaranteed that you will get if you put X amount of work into something. I feel like that should be legendaries. If i play X crucible games, I will get enough rep to get this legendary, or if I get X amount of strange coins i can get this legendary. Call me crazy but I feel like exotics should be significantly more rare than legendaries, and at the moment, i feel like they aren't. But I would love to hear some points of view : Should exotics be as common or just slightly less so than Legendaries? Why?
