The Ogre under the Cosmodrome

"If you see an Ogre, you know you're close to something the Hive values" To those who have ventured into the Hive lair beneath the Cosmodrome and know of the hulking creature that lurks within one of its tunnels; The quote above was taken directly from one of the Grimoire cards and got me wondering. It was odd, to me, that the Hive had such a large stowaway of high-level beasties just hanging around the depths of old Russia. What is it that they're protecting, since they do have an Ogre in their midst? This could be related to upcoming DLC, or it may just be that they're building up their forces to attempt an area takeover. The quote above has me thinking that it is indeed the former. What's your theory?

    • I killed an ogre in the cosmodrome, there's a room with one and a dead ghost. Sometimes it's a knight instead of the ogre though.

    • They mention in Worlds Grave that they have been seeding earth for years for eventual take over. Maybe it guards their base camp or it's just a heavy soldier they sent to help capture earth.

    • Well the seeder near the loot cave is connected to the Jovian Complex area, which is locked off for now. You also have those 3 Hive Knights under the building on the shores. They are guarding the locked off entrance to the RAS bunker. Huge clue to what we think is down there, RAS...Rasputin. The Hive seem to have a big interest in the old War Mind. I mean when you fire up the old array station, who turn up. The Hive. The Fallen seem to be trying to keep the Hive away from it all or at least keep them back until they get what they want. Are the Hive actually trying to protect Rasputin? Who knows.

      • I stumbled upon that cave with one of my friends. There's more to each planets than you think if you just explore them for a bit.

      • Yup, there's a door there. Been waiting to see what's behind there for awhile now.

      • Awesome connection! In past games Bungie has put so many easter eggs and hidden lore in, I hope to see the same thing here. I would guess it alludes to a plot progression they attempt to make through DLC, but it would be great to see some events and areas open up randomly as time moves on, outside of DLC. Perhaps once a certain number of people defeat Crota's End.

        • Near that spot there is a large metal door (it's on the outside of the cave) I think this could be a new vault

          • Could be Rasputin, or it could be: Seeders are enormous spears full of Hive that pierce a planets surface and unleash their horror upon it. Reports of Seeders being found on Earth are concerning, indicating that Hive may be looking to eliminate the Light, once and for all. A mission to the World’s Grave uncovered that the Hive have in fact been seeding Earth for centuries. Guardians wishing to uncover more about them can find on buried in Skywatch, near the infamous Treasure Cave
