What is "The Reef"?

In some of the trailers and ViDocs for Destiny, when you look at the Director (the planet selection screen, basically), you see amid the various planets (Earth, the Moon, Mars, Venus)a location marked right in the middle of the map. Right above the Traveler (which marks the tower) is what looks like a debris field, and it is marked "The Reef". Anybody know anything about this location, or what it is? I remember some very early, brief gameplay footage of a Guardian standing on board what looked like a derelict spaceship, and some concept art of derelict ships orbiting Saturn. Is that what this is? Will it be like the other locales, with Story Missions, Strikes, and an Explore mode? Or is it something more unique? I hope Bungie can shed some light on this soon...

  • From what we know of the Reef so far it is where the original Awoken settled into after the Collapse (the Awoken on Earth are their descendants who've returned). It also is home to passive Fallen, which sounds strange but is apparently true. Also I do believe the Reef is a debris field, because on Earth, shipwrecks often form artificial reefs that can house life, hence the name "The Reef". I do not know it's exact location, and whether it not it will have Story, Strikes, and Explore mode.
