Bungie, what has happened to you? AKA "Not what we envisioned"

Despite the massive amounts of drama that's been going on behind the closed doors of Bungie, and the loss of several fan favorite employees, I was still hoping that Bungie still had the passion and spark that had shown through in previous games. After the latest patch and a small section of an update, I have come to realize that Bungie has lost its way. In the latest Destiny Dev Notes, the loot cave was briefly addressed. In those two short paragraphs, I realized that the Bungie that we have had for over a decade is gone.
But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience.
Those two sentences have set Bungie's new method of operation. Since players aren't playing how the Dev team envisioned, they're going stop players from playing how they want to. That is just staggering to me. I honestly can't believe that a company that went from making one of the most creative video game franchises ever would do something like this. Coming away from Halo, a series that thrives off of players not only playing like they are supposed to, but also taking what's there and doing absolutely absurd and amazing things to have fun, this is utterly mind-boggling to me. What choices we do have as players is so limited, I feel like I'm playing Titanfall, which means not doing anything other than regulated fun. We went from a developer that created playlists with hundreds of maps and gametypes made by the community that blew everyone's minds. You freakin' made Chess and Ski-ball for Halo, who does that? The Old Bungie. Where did the fun go? Where's the passion? Where's the creativity? What happened to this once amazing company that took pride in its community and would even showcase it weekly? What happened to the dev team that showed heart and had the balls to risk a mistake rather than play it safe because it awesome? Where is the pride in your work? Where is the spark that made one of the most influential game series of the past decade? What happened to you Bungie?

 • Well honestly mate the Bungie we knew changed somewhere between odst and Halo Reach. If you recall a lot of the things that happened during Reach are similar to Destiny. Soft caps on marks very similar to credit cap in Reach which took 4-6 hours to hit. Return to battlefield? Also in Reach lazy dev mechanic. Some members moved on with 343 some quit. Bur firing Marty a huge piece in Bungie lore, just goes to show the top 3-4 guys obviously have let greed and money get in the way of community and compassion. TlDR, Bungie we knew is long gone, and clearly they don't care so lets watch them crash and burn like Rare, Dice and many other failed AAA devs.
