The whole time I was playing destiny I never felt a true threat towards me or earth. No sense of dread or fear. Partly becuase the story wasnt gripping or engaging enough. But the tone seemed a little light hearted. I know this is meant for teens but still. No imagine this.
Imagine looking out onto the traveller...the skies dim you feel uneasy and then you see hive ships enter the space over the city. Vex begin to teleport everywhere. The darkness breaks into the city and you hear screams and explosions. Ships start to evacuate only for many to be shot down. Your ghost tells you you need to clear the skies and you leap off the tower into the city.
Personally id prefer destiny sequels to be a little darker and grittier. Have a sense of doubt. Like a lack of hope when your seeing the last city burn from the interior of your ship (hopefully we can go inside the damn things come the sequel)

Definitely feeling a sense of mass effect 3 here, which i loved so yeah i would love this!!
-
Sounds like the beginning of Mass Effect 3
-
Agreed

It'll come with time. Mass Effect is a pretty good example. It had a much, much darker tone than the previous games did. I imagine we'll probably get a 'the City is burning!' moment in one of the sequels, but I doubt it'll be the next one.

The next destiny game should be a prequel leading to where you die on old Russia.

I made a post on here two days ago I think saying that in this game there should be a random attack on the Tower. Just to shake things up a bit and give players real WTF is happening moments.
-
Amen this is so true!

Main character is detached from the story. No one bothers to explain anything to you. You wake up full of questions but the speaker just screws you over and ask you to kill stuff because youre a "Guardian" Of what exactly? have you seen anyone needing help? Almost every one you see in this game is either a guardian or a minion of darkness. Basicly the main character is a tool.

There is no atmosphere in Destiny because the game is hollow. I'd like to not see a sequel. I'd like this game to have a story first.

i could tell you....
