a person puts a lot of time into upgrading and getting the so called best weapons. then, a level 4 or 8 or 9 kills you with one shot. it has frustrated the hell out of me. i used to think destiny was a great game....... until i put so much time into creating the best character.... all for not. i still get my ass handed to me, i still am as weak as a level 4.

Levels on weapons are for pve not for pvp. The best example of this is get a Galahad and a grim citizen III. These will get almost the same results regardless of the quality (rare vs legend). Its all on the impact-rate of fire and range.

Edited by malfurion79: 10/23/2014 6:11:30 PMlol Crucible is very frustrating I know. My first 30-50 matches were me getting smashed with every weapon in the game. and I'm pretty damn good at games in general, although FPS pvp was very new new. But one day, I woke up and noticed I was doing more killing, more controlling and more winning. Things weren't so bad. People on the field know who's good and who isn't. Pretty soon I was getting friend requests from other Guardians I was in a heated 1 vs 1 with. After all the tea bagging and taunting, you end up being friends lol It's good shit man if you can get past the frustration. But a lot of people won't and just get pissed and stop playing. I understand that. I was like "F that" I will get good or die trying! and I did. You can too if you get past that gear expectation. Make it fun. Learn which weapons work for you and go to town. If you want to one shot noobs and veterans alike. Just farm the heavy ammo and smash everyone who looks at you funny. In the end, either play it or don't. No one can change your mind, only give you a perspective. It was really fun once I accepted the rules and played to them. Gear advantage or not. I still get pissed dying, but at least I can take people down with me! mwahahahaha Good luck!

The butthurt is too strong with this one... Dude, if you don't want to get wrecked in the normal crucible, wait for Iron Banner and show how your armor and weapon upgrades can save you. LOL All I can say is that you get more practice and stop being a crybaby.

The crucible takes level advantage out and normalizes damage and defense. You do have an advantage in terms of number of subclass abilities unlocked, and the perks of gear (like increased super charging). But yes, for a level playing ground your character level has no bearing.

Let me just slap my chest while I complain about a level 4 one hit killing me with a rocket lancher or a sniper bullet to the head in a playlist that removes level advantage.

You're completely delusional. You've nearly played 12 days and you accuse things in the game as being a "waste of time". It says in the Crucible playlists "level advantage removed" if you're too stupid to realize that then you should just quit. If you had any skill you could use the first gun in the game and do well.

The light levels only matter for pve. PVP is balanced with everybody on the same armor and attack.

skill > class > gear

I am sure you will get a fair amount of smart remarks, but it comes with the territory on these types of OP's. There are players that do have a high amount of skill and can own others regardless of their level. That is a core part of most FPS games. It is not the gear that makes you good, it is the skill. Gear does help and paying attention to the types of weapon damage and perks used is also a factor. You may need to find a better, more deliberate way, to tune your playing style versus others. Historically, I have done well in previous Bungie titles, but Destiny has a different - more fast paced - aspect to it. I have not spent a lot of time in the Crucible, and when I have it has been hit or miss for me. I have gone 17 - 0 and been owned like a red headed step child. I will soon spend more time there and hopefully find my groove there. Just keep at it and keep doing your best to adjust your game. Who cares if a lower level higher skilled player beats you? Your gear won't save you from that. Good luck.
