SOLO PVE players need a path to victory!
SOLO PVE players need a patch to victory. Deej (a Bungie Employee) wrote in the 10/17/2014 Weekly Update that the main theme Bungie has is "There should be no single answer for how to win in Destiny.”. To a SOLO PVE player, "winning" means reaching level 30 and the unfortunate reality for us SOLO PVE players is that we have no way to "win".

simple fix , Bungie just lets the current level 29 gear exp to lvl 30 with no changes to anything except the number 29 is now a number 30 problem solved.
