Chests are useless..
Does anyone else think that the "reward" of finding these chests are kinda lame.. they should make chests harder to find and make it worth finding them. glimmer and spin metal isent rewarding at all! and if your lucky you will get a engram of some kind..
what do you guys think about the chests and what would you rather see in terms of changes?

I got shards and strange coins farming chests. Can't believe there's no trophy for getting all gold chests...ripoff!

Just yesterday alone while randomly on patrol missions I picked up two ship plans, 1 legendary engram, a few blue engrams, 2 strange coins, 1 mote of light, random less thrilling gear and bunch of resources. I wasn't even searching for chests lol It's all in the mathematical lottery.

1 ReplyIf you are lucky you do get engrams. There is a chest with 2 blue engrams, a strange coin/mote of light AND 12 local resources in it. It spawns roughly every hour in each part of the map in a random place outside of the normal farm routes. They are usually in high places.

There is topic called, "Platinum Chests" check it out. I think Platinum chests should be added. Bungie hides on Platinum for each planet and finding them give you some real awesome loot, and bunch of upgrade material (Spinmetal/Helium/Spirit Bloom/Iron)

Chests spawn like crazy and are great for farming materials. You have a chance to get good stuff while you farm.

I get very excited when I find that one chest that has 9+ spin metal. From the way I see it, don't rely on chests to give you gear. In the long run, you will need all the gear materials you can find.

I received legendary armor engram in a chest once. It happens. Got purple arms now.

The chest are for farming glimmer and upgrade materials...and the occasional ship upgrade. But dont' expect to find any gear that you will actually use in the end-game.

I agree with this for the gold chests. The stuff you get is worthless in those. They are not even worth finding. The normal chests however I love finding when I'm material farming.

Chests are great for farming material. They are more rewarding then harvest the material on its own.

Gold chests are overhyped... They're no better than normal chests and often times worse because they only give worthless glimmer. Normal chests are awesome. They usually give 2x material and have a chance for 10x material.

i'm ok with the regular chests but the gold chests need some attention. i don't see the point as to why they are gold in the first place. all they do is give you the same items as the regular chests. also, after collecting all the gold chests in the game, you get nothing. i would think i would get an emblem/shader/achievement? something?
