So I got two strike idlers to report me...

Well, today I was trying to do the strike bounty when I encountered two idlers. Well, I guess I shouldn't call them idlers. They weren't idling, they simply refused to proceed. It's obvious they were going after the same bounty but were too afraid of dying. Despite my nonverbal encouragement and PMs, they refused to proceed. I didn't really mind, I probably could have done it in my own. But then one of them decided to mock me by teabagging. So I decided to teach him a lesson. I hopped onto my sparrow and zipped across the rocketfield. I entered the corridors that lead to the firefight between the hive and the fallen. I entered the darkness zone where upon I immediately pulled out my rocket launcher and killed myself. Since there was nobody around to revive me, it counted as a wipe for the whole team. I ingeniously thwarted their cowardly plan and they knew it. When we all respawned in the corridor, they expressed their fury by punching me in vain. Then they left. A minute later I received a message from one of them, calling me a bundle of sticks and alerting me that they had both filed reports against me. That is how you take care of idlers.

I just had 2 29s go idle on me during Tiger. I made it to the end and was halfway through the Vex mind when I got kicked from the Bungie server! Looks like the LIVE outage might be the culprit?

    • U do know it's not counted as a death right? So the idlers could just wait around some more and still get the bounty

      • A wipe doesn't count as a death because I was doing a strike and I was killing everything and one guy just ran past everything and died in the room where phogoth was it wiped we all spawned at phogoth and we finished and I got my bounty so I don't think it counts as a death for them just you.

      • I'm a bad person. I just play my game. If they wanna idle that's their problem. If I happen to wipe and they get zoned in, I smile. I'm the worst player I know and I can solo the first two strikes without dying. Level up clowns.

      • I usually just hop on my sparrow and catapult them into the nearest solid object for instant death. Hilarity ensues.

      • Who does in strikes anyway?!?!? Good for you! That exactly what I do. K/D means nothing to me cause I know how good of a player I really am. So I'll take an L to teach a lesson. Report me all you want. Bungie will do nothing to me since they can see your progress and I'm sorry but, they are smart enough to conclude what probably happened. Oh you don't want to help in a team based strike? No problem I'll back out or go to the dark zone and rocket a knight/wizard/Dreg in the face so I get a kill for my death lol Bye bye bounty that's super easy to get with 3 people...

      • Something similar happened to me like this the other day during the Strike against the Nexus on Venus. This guy just tucked himself in a corner and wouldn't participate, I'm guessing just to get through the Strike with minimal work. He wouldn't even get out of his spot to revive myself or the other Guardian. I'm sorry, but that really makes me mad. If you don't plan to work as a team, don't play.

      • I like hopping on my Sparrow, getting behind them, and slowly pushing them towards the direction we need to go. I'm like, "No man left behind!" Also you end up pushing them into the enemy which is also funny.

      • This really just points out how Bungie needs to improve matchmaking. I'll freely admit I'm basically a novice. Never played much multiplayer of any type, not really big into FPS games before. I played Destiny about as far as I could go solo (almost exclusively PvE) but don't have many PS4 friends playing the game, so I've been reaching out on message boards to form up ad hoc fireteams. The thing is, I'm not terribly good. I'm trying to improve because I find the game really fun. But last week I hooked up with these 2 guys to do my first Weekly Heroic strike. I was a lvl 22 warlock, the other 2 were lvl 25 hunter and titan - we got hammered and died repeatedly; me more than the other guys. I was doing my best, trying to be effective, learning the map and where I could go to be effective, but there's no doubt that they carried me. Thing is, I've got to learn how to be helpful. Running into something I'm not able to handle and dying doesn't do any good. Focusing on the Hydra boss when a mob of goblins and harpies are sneaking up behind us doesn't help anyone. I was apologetic, and asking for guidance and instructions - and to their credit they weren't giving me grief - but they were tight and working well together and I was pretty much along for the ride. Now, I'm not complaining. I contributed plenty of kills (including that Hydra boss) and revived teammates at least 3-5 times, but I can't help but think that if Bungie could do some matchmaking here there wouldn't be these problems where relative n00bs are frustrating the veterans.

        • I don't leave on a strike when that bounty is active until I see everyone moving. If no one moves I just sit down and wait. I can go do laundry or something while I wait for them to either leave or help

          • Nice. That was a smart way to get at them. I hate when people do this sort of stuff on strikes. Their so scared of dying they don't at properly at all(aka idling when bounty is there for completing a strike without dying).

            • The last time i met an idler i punched him a couple of times and got no response... so i hopped on my sparrow and circled him.. still no sign of life. So i lined him up with the nearest wall and backed away to make sure i could get ample speed for what was to come next.. I saw his character turn towards me just as i connected and sent him into the wall and away from his "flawless" strike.. he left as i was teabagging his ghost and half ressing him..
