Disappearing Heavy Ammo

I've noticed that when my character goes to a new planet or after I log in again the heavy ammo I collected, previously, goes back to zero. Now, I know that coming back from the Crucible, your Heavy Ammo is emptied, but I'm talking about PVE related activities. Anyone else having instances where their ammo just drops to zero?
