The negative feedback Destiny is getting has nothing to do with entitles teens wanting instant gratification. I, along with my group of friends are all over 30, well educated and working professionals. We love hoping on a solid game, being social and enjoying an evening on Xbox love after a long day. Every one of us was extremely excited to get immersed in the world of destiny but sadly, after 3 weeks we all had zero desire to play. The gameplay is hands down the best I have ever experienced in a FPS. The guns all feel wonderful, the skill trees are solid and the world looks absolutely amazing. The strength of he gameplay alone kept me going. Sadly, there is zero story. How Bungie felt it was ok to release this game with its current campaign is beyond me. Games like Mass Effect and the Witcher series had amazing and immersive worlds with top notch story telling and great characters. this game has a contrived, derivative shell of a story and basically one annoying character there simply to provide exposition all dialogue. There is no connection to anything you are doing or anyone you meet. The level design feels downright amateurish. As others said, it's horde mode while defending the bot. Every time. All game. It's the same 6 strikes over and over and the same bounties every few days. I can't headshot another 200 fallen or I'll go nuts! The game just feels like punching a time clock or doing my homework. Admittedly, I have not done a raid but I also never have 6 friends online at a time. Shame because I bet it's great but to be honest, I'm so burnt out and I feel like a mark powering up the game so I likely won't. There is an amazing product I there somewhere. I want to love it. The gameplay as I said earlier is amazing. It just isn't the game I expected and it seems very lazy across the board. My free time is valuable and other games have already taken over. I do hope the game gets support and becomes something special. I will gladly hop on if the dlc is strong. It's just disappointing to say the least. This game should never have come out of my xbone in 2014.

This happens [i]every time[/i] any type of mmo-type game releases a patch/nerf/buff... All those games you listed werent as close to an mmo as destiny is. People whine about everything from all angles (too hard, too easy, buff x, nerf x, add raid matchmaking, i want to solo the raid, blah blah). This type of whining isnt new, its new to you. Edit, for the record, i like destiny, despite its many glaring flaws.

*sigh* this again. Cause Destiny doesn't feel like Destiny. The people who say "why are you complaaaaaaing" are full of shit. The people who say "this game is horrible idk why people play it" are also full of shit. But we all have the right to give our opinion no matter how rude right wrong ignorant or just plain dumb.

I am not a kid, and I have been playing computer games for around 25 years (starting when I was adult). This is the first game that is so far from what the publisher promised it to be that I feel deceived. From the promo videos I and many other people were made to believe that Destiny would be kind of a scifi Fallout 3 on steroids with a rich persistent MMO game world and an enthralling story. Instead it is a generic shoot and loot game with a beautiful, but lifeless graphical backdrop, no real story and bugs and flaws that annoy the hell out of its players, like - messed up PvP - lackluster story and flawed raids / strikes that get fixed in the most unreasonable, unacceptable and uninspired manner - a lot of smaller issues like the UI, making multi-character handling, finding random people for a fireteam, or even just turning the GODDAMN MUSIC OFF hard or impossible - continuing networking issues not even a workaround like auto-saving mission / strike progress is provided for To name just a few. The people responsible for this should be beaten with a stick, imvho.

Always remember. Even if 10000 people come here and complain it's still a small majority when compared to millions playing the game. We have raised a society of instant gratification. Want something? One click away. People can't be patient. Am I saying destiny is the most amazing thing ever? No. I'm willing to wait around for a bit. Look at other games. Like world of warcraft. It's not the same game it was when it was released? Yet people go to those forums and blast blizzard everyday. You can't make everyone happy. Typically in our society the people who "yell" the loudest feel they make a difference. If they hit the forums with "Bungie you suck" somehow feel bungie will wake up at night in a cold sweat "OMG someone doesn't like us!" People are always more brave when they don't fear any consequence. Bash bungie in the forum? So what? What's bungie gonna do? It's a sad day when people start flame wars in forums and blast one another for their thoughts. Which by why way are only opinion until proven fact. Spend all this effort to tell me how bad destiny is. Perhaps they should put the same effort into their day to day lives? Maybe be a better parent? Husband? Nope don't have time some scrub is calling me out on a forum. To sum this all up. We shouldn't be surprised that the forums are this way. In the end it is now "accepted" by society to behave this way. And it's something we all have to live with.

You have probably never taken a look at the Warframe forums then. This community is just as bad as every other one I've been to, the problem with this community is there are long-time people here who expected something more than they got, and they are upset because they know what the company is capable of.

id like to comment on the Communication between bungie and us as well. there used to be this company,called Atari. they made this Awesome game called test drive 2,and promised us the World. we fell for it,bought dlc-s,the casino,etc etc. we also posted daily and tried to help make the game better. less than a year later,atari closed the forums on Pretext of maintenance,never to be opened again./sept 2012/ they also closed the casino ingame,for no official reason,With No Warning,so all our money that was in the casino bank is now gone forever. they made a LOT of Real money off us,and farked us over bigtime,and now where are they? on facebook,making little atari posts about the old days and their commitment to players. GAG* perfect lesson on how-to become an Obsolete developer. since then,when i see a company doing shit like bungies doing now,im always reminded of what happened to atari. perhaps you should rethink the way you Handle the players/fanbase Bungie,or we might be reading Your lame facebook posts in a year too. 10 year plan my ass..best to be fixing things or it wont make it a year.

I began playing video games in 1981! I am 49 and I tell you: This game sucks big time! It's the lack of story and lack of a loot system that is not fully RNG based. There are also no people who go on with their daily lifes etc. There is also no morals or behaviour related system of incentives in this game. I still hope it can be brought to life if Bungie really cares for content. It's ironic that my best weapons are from playing crucible and making last or second to last place! lol

anger at bungie over destiny is because they lied their asses off about what destiny is and sold us the fkn beta at full price. something should be done legally to make bungie pay for this massive lie called destiny.

New style of game and people get twitchy because it's not the norm. I personally really enjoy destiny, even more so now I have explored another class. Yes there are glitches, bugs etc etc but if you have ever played an mmo you will understand these things happen. I will agree with many in saying that the content is lacking at the moment, for dedicated gamers we have explored all we can explore, and you know it's getting bad when you know all the spawn points and what spawns... however it's still very early stages of the game and I'm pretty sure there will be free content updates in the future (all be it not as much as what the dlc updates bring) I'm more of a pve rather than PvP, don't get me wrong i enjoy the odd game of crucible but the big win for me in this game is the teamining up with friends and battling your way through strikes and raids. it's a nice break from the standard cod and battlefield fps's. I just hope they realise their market and really push on the missions, strikes and raids.
