So I just got The Achylophage Symbiote and it reads:
"They told me it would eat my thoughts and leave me full of Light."
Now I'm thinking this is a dark souls reference. In Dark Souls 1 when the knight Solaris succumbs to the symbiotic sunlight maggot found in the chaos covenant shortcut. What do you guys think?

Enjoy playing Dark Souls? Try playing the game on the secret difficulty option called "Drunk Souls". How does this change the gameplay? Enemy attack patterns are instantly forgotten after death. Ledges and walkways become a whopping 100% more lethal. Shields become sluggish when blocking strikes and parrying becomes nearly impossible. Finally, when encountering bosses you are inflicted with a new status ailment called blind panic & confusion. Please keep in mind that Drunk Souls is not for everyone; the faint of heart have been warned. To those brave enough to embark on this suicide mission....I salute you. ~Cheers~

Praise the sun! I saved Solaire every play through though.

Praise the Sun! There are plenty of references to plenty of sci-fi and fantasy IPs in Destiny. I absolutely would not be surprised. The Loot Cave easter egg is a Dune reference a.f.e.
