Earn Legendary Engrams Without Farming
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give out tips and tricks on how to earn Legendary Engrams without farming. As rewarding as it is to grind up mobs of enemies, I just want to play the game like a normal gamer.

The problem is, before the engram update, I got lots of engrams, and now, I hardly ever get anything good. Nightfalls and Raids too! I get ships, acendant materials, and shaders! WHY!?

1 Reply1000000 Tiger strikes = 0,0 legendary for me. I got my most on weekly heroics nightfall and all high level missions(lvl26-28) but yesterday i found one leg and 2 blues turned into legendaries

3 RepliesTiger strikes are your best bet for playing the game and not shooting in a hole to get gear. You get marks and rep to buy vanguard armor to get you into normal VOG so you can start getting raid gear to do hard VOG. Good luck on your journey, if you are on ps4 send me a friend invite. Usually in a party chat with a handful of guys that are high level and some that are are new to the game and in lower 20's. Somebody is always running something and we play the game rather than shoot in holes.

I never farm and I have only gotten one legendary engram. I do tiger strikes, patrols, heroic missions, all that stuff and still nothing. Bungie should be a little bit more fair in giving out some legendary engrams.

Edited by Zumo: 10/16/2014 8:55:10 PMdoing vanguard will help out get legendary weapons and armors just last night I got 2 Legendary a weapon and armor but the armor was for a titan both lvl 20. But remember it runs by luck.

Strikes, but I haven't seen a purple in a age. And that one was for a Hunter cloak while I am a Titan.

Strike playlist on Tiger difficulty is the best way to farm engrams.

2 RepliesJust go do things in the game world. I usually find 3 or 4 a week since the patch. I've been running some Tiger strikes, heroic/nightfalls, etc. Not really trying to get them, and I've probably gotten 15 or so since launch. I think it's hilarious how many people are farming engrams. I'm sitting in fully upgraded legendary armor and I've never gone farming for anything.

Learn those strikes inside and out and you can finish then with a good team in 10-15 min flat. Also the nightfall can give exotic weapons, friend got the Plan C and Suros last night when I got 12 shards.

Raid, Weekly Heroic Strike, Nightfall Strike for your best chances. Vanguard Tiger also guarantees Engrams, if you play those for a significant amount of time you'll get a very good amount of gear.

Do like 10-15 tiger strikes in a row without going to the tower. Then cash in all at once. I think this does 2 things. First its like pulling the lever on the same slot machine. One of the pulls will result in purple. Second you rank up the Cryptarch multiple times and have the chance at more purples I came across this doing the bad juju bounty that requires 25 strikes. I did 16 in one sitting When i went to cash in i got 5 legendary items in total. 2 from blue engrams and 2 in Cryptarch packages. I also got one drop while playing the strikes.

I do nightfalls: guaranteed 1-2 legendaries (engram or gear) and possible exotic. I do VoG: at least 2 legendaries per run and an exotic. (Potential raid gear too) I read many forums where people have no such luck, so who knows what you'll get if you do 'em all! Meditate for RNGesus and believe in dat Law of Attraction for maximum results!

Play strikes this way you get marks and gain the kills increasing your chances to gain legendarys

Use those blues to upgrade the cryptarch. He gives legendaries every now and again at higher levels.

Beware. You may not think much of the rarity upgrade for ascendant materials, but the fact that it's legandary means it can come out of legendary engrams. Trolled me so hard after finally getting one from dailies
