Would a materials vendor enhance your Destiny experience?
I've been sitting on over 1000 Plasteel Plating for my Titan for quite a while now....
Would Destiny be enhanced if there was vendor where guardians could trade armor and weapon parts for materials like Spirit Bloom and Relic Iron, or Vanguard and Crucible marks/Rep?
If you have any other related ideas please share.
<edit> The question I'm posing is this: If you could do something with your excess of armor and weapon parts, such as trade them, would the community and Destiny benefit from that small change? What if guardians could trade 500 armor material for 1 strange coin or a similar exchange?

Yes it would help me massively. I have huge amounts of plasteel, weapon parts, other bits but I rarely get ascendant material (I can't do raids for one reason or another). I'm struggling to rank up and feel like I've reached the games limit, in terms of how far I can go. Your idea is perfect for me, since it would still mean spending time in the game to accumulate whatever is needed to but ass mats, but if they try to keep it balanced it would be great. Problem is I'm beginning to think Bungie are trying to drip feed the good stuff to make the game last. Instead of giving us lots of different goodies, variety, choice etc they have just made it really difficult to get certain things unless you play EXACTLY the way they want you to, which is really do a bit of everything in Destiny, but I don't want to play that way.

1 ReplyI was just telling my buddy they need to add a way for us to purchase materials. I don't find it fun at all running around and collecting spinmetal and spirit bloom. Everything in this game has multiple ways to acquire things, except for farming these materials. I should have the option to pay motes of light or strange coins for packs of 50.

I've mentioned it in another post, but they should Change the patrol bounty to give you a mat of material from the planet it was on instead of faction points this way it wouldn't make patrols useless

I also made a similar post I want a full blown material/currency exchange. that way I can earn the rep/rewards I like to and still be able to buy/craft stuff that requires something else. Agreed I may take a hit from a nice exchange fee but at least I'm PLAYING THE GAME HOW I WANT instead of having to farm for materials/rep that is boring to me.

I made a post similar asking if the possibility of a machine, that players could use to throw excess stuff into and get a random reward, would be ever available.

would be nice to buy mats but would make TONS of peeps stop patrols and world participation would drop massively they just need to greatly buff the amount of mats you get on patrol. repeating patrols is even worse than repeating strikes...

3 RepliesPerhaps some sort of transactions to make glimmer not useless. Never have i played another game where the in-game currency, be it gold or whatever, is completely pointless to have. Its like they got so wrapped up in strange coins and motes of light that they forgot what the main currency was supposed to be

Everything in this direction would be helpful. What about materials you can´t use because it´s for another class? I don´t want to generate new characters - my gaming time is limited and i don´t want to be pushed to something i don´t want by this game again (like PvP).

it would be happy to at least be able to buy spinmetal, filaments etc with glimmer from a vendor. nothing worse then needing spinmetal for upgrades and running around in circles in the cosmodrome for 2 hrs collecting it.

you know what would enchance my game experience? If i could play this game. My friend plays on the same PS4 I do, same internet, router, everything. He plays fine, no connection issues, me, I log in immediately after him, and I cant stay in cosmodrome for more than 3 minutes. So whatever is going on, is on Bungie's end. So how bout they make the game playable first...crazy idea I know.

In my opinion that would break the game. The point is to actually search for the materials. If they didn't that then next thing you know people will ask for micro transactions to buy anything they want. It should be left as is

100 for 10 of the material would be fair. Weapon parts and class materials come basically free, so it would have to be a lot.

I would love to see, trade in marks, glimmer, something to save time from running around the worlds.

Farming for materials is so freaking tedious I think I've fallen asleep every time I farmed and it took even longer every time

I got an exotic bounty that would have lead to "Thorn" but in the end I just abandoned it (it was wasting a bounty slot) as there was no way I was ever going to get the 500 void deaths in the crucible (I'm crap!). I would actually have happily GIVEN this thing to someone who could have got some use out of it - though if they could have just maybe traded something like 20 Spirit/Helium/Blooms/Iron/.. I guess that would have been nice too :-)
