I've recently seen a lot of feminism forum posts, and I'd like to share my opinion on it. I have a lot of problems with what feminism concerning who/what they blame their issues on. So I'll list them here and I'd like to see some responses, if it interests you, with criticism or support. 1. I don't really see much of an inequality within law besides the economic argument that men earn more than woman, which after researching, I found to be true. I support the idea of both men and women earning the same amount within the same occupation. 2. Most of the arguments I hear being made are social issues; for example: r*pe. Now let's discuss the topic of r*pe. R*pe is going to happen obviously no matter whether women are completely looked upon as equal in all aspects of law. R*pe will always be an issue in the sense no matter what, it will happen. Murder is looked upon as wrong under law and it still happens. Now, let's analyze stereotypes. Women are made out to have beautiful bodies and have many attractive features; whilst men... not so much. Keeping this in mind, the "sexier" parts of a women's body stand out and can be seen through clothes much easier than with men. Women are more self-conscience and get depressed over their bodies. Women use makeup and clothes to make themselves more attractive, thust feeding that stereotype. Men are made out in stereotype to suppose to win over the women and be aggressive, strong, and to assert themselves. Most men don't use make-up or dress to show their more attractive attributes (i.e You don't hear girls saying, "Oh look at those abs you can totally see through his shirt. Oh look at his penis; that's so big. I want him so bad". But flip it around so a man is talking about a women and it would make sense, "Oh look at those tits you can totally see through her shirt. Oh that big ass is just popping out of those yoga pants". Now, if men cared as much as women about their appearance, gave attention towards in the media, wore clothing to show off parts of their body considered "sexy", do you think [u]do*chebag[/u] women would be r*pe men at a higher rate? I think so. 3. Looked at as lesser in interests dominated my men. Well, if a man came up to you and said "I'm totally into shopping and make up," would you believe him? Now let's flip that, a women comes up to a man and says "I'm so interested in video games and sports!" Get it now? ***Side Note*** I want to make this a point as well. The definition of a stereotype is "a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing," I am using stereotypes to be very broad and simplified. Also, as a majority vs minority view point. Stereotypes are based off of a majority, not a minority, and I realize there are the people who don't fit into stereotypes (minorities). Most guys I know like video games and sports, but I realize there are some who like neither. For my last point... Do you think the behaviors of women affect what women get treated as? I think if women didn't feed the stereotypes that they didn't like (Going back to how women are way more in depth care of their opinion - at a majority level - thereby giving more attention to that aspect in the media then leading to stereotype then leading to expectations), they wouldn't get them. I think men and politics are just reacting towards what we give them to react to.
