Destiny and Norse Mythology

Okay now i don't claim to be a Destiny expert or an expert on Norse Mythology but I've been looking around the internet and have begun to form some connections. Just wanted to get them out there and see what the community could do with it, so here it goes. i would like to start with the destiny loading symbol and the "Web Of Wyrd" http://api.ning.com/files/BAcPAB7hbbhaDxPU0wcW4KbTtG0CCDKKqnr-nOESw00ZbDTykq4qXh9CaZqcLBy*4A38e1g3yCpdJgG6lccW63TOM2PCD2CK/WebofWyrd.jpg . Notice anything? Wyrd is basically the Norse belief of destiny so the Web of Wyrd is the Web of Destiny. I'm unable to articulate my thoughts on this mater very well but here is a link to the article that started my mind to Spinning. http://norse-mythology.org/concepts/destiny-wyrd-urd/ Also things to note The Nine --- Nine worlds in Norse Mythology. Maybe the Leaders of each? Time --- Norse believe that time is circular. As Guardians we live, kill, die, repeat. The Collapse --- Possibly Ragnarok ? Odin --- Maybe refer to the traveler he hand picks the mightiest warriors from humanity for the last battle even knowing he will lose. What can you guys/gals do with this ?

 • -Hammer of Sol. Sol is the God of Sun. -Gjallarhorn Sparrow. The Gjallarhorn was a great horn used to warn the gods of Ragnarok. -The Iron Lords. The symbol of this group is a tree of wisdom, possibly Yggdrasil. -The wolf of the Iron Banner. Loki's son, Fenrir was the wolf that brought destruction. -Trials of Osiris. Although Osiris is Egyptian, the eye may resemble that of the one that Odin plucked out. Coincidence? I think not.

 • I've noticed some serious connections between Destiny and all sorts of ancient Earth cultures. A bunch of the blue heavy machine guns are named after Persian kings, for example. To continue the Norse theme, remember that Guardians are all created with the souls of ancient warrior dead, just like the Einherjar of Norse myth, resurrected in the time of Ragnarok to fight for Asgard. The valiant dead were destined to be brought back to fight in the final battle. Now, in Norse myth it is the Valkyrie that brought the warrior back to life, Valkyries are typically shown as beautiful strong warrior women on horseback, so I don't know how that connects to our Dinklebot pal just yet. Perhaps a myth from another culture?
