Look at my recent games, take a second..... Okay, good.
What the hell is up with the skill level of PvP players in this game? I honestly could take my controller, throw it against the wall, and end up on the top of my team.
I find myself scavenging for parties that will play crucible with me because it seems like every time I enter a match I have a team of barely functioning vegetables that can barely break 2000 score.
Seriously... Why are PvP players in destiny so bad?
Ps. If you'd like to ask me, or anyone else on this thread questions to improve your PvP ability, I encourage you to do so.
Edit: Lots of replies! Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Maybe Bungie will look past the rage in the post and consider implementing a skill-based matchmaking system.
Also, I play on Ps4 for all those asking.

cant find your over 9000 game cant you just drop a link?
-
Like others have said, blame matchmaking. Without filtering for skill, this is what you get: a huge number of squash matches. Also, keep in mid that scores are (mostly) zero-sum here, meaning that if one person does really well, another necessarily doesn't. Using a specific score as a benchmark is going to fail - you could easily surpass that in a game full of poor players, making you seem better than you are, or get blown out against a coordinated team of good players, making you seem worse.
-
Yeah I totally get you man. I feel like I should be winning 90% of my games but you listed the reason that doesn't happen. What's your PSN? Iron Banner is coming out eventually, we should group up.
-
Just a thought is it because most people don't want to play pvp? I know I don't because I prefer pve but it's seriously lacking.
-
Add me on PSN, I never go into the crucible alone after I realised most games cannot be carried.
-
Happened to me several times during Iron banner. You carry the team with all those points but you still lose because the rest of your team just sucks.
-
I'm surprised no one has said this yey
Your score was... OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited by Guardian2950: 10/24/2014 3:15:25 PMbecause no one takes destiny pvp serious... well, obviously a few... here is why. - no custom games (no tournaments or set matches) - 4 game types?!?!?! how?!?! what?!?! - no capture the flag... - 2 vehicles... don't you dare say the sparrow counts... - how many maps? wow... that is sad. - no lobby chat - still insanely unbalanced, *looks at blade dancers* - needs "no supers" game type - iron banner... BAHAHAHAHA... broke - random drop rewards... worst player always wins - adds you to games in progress... with 30 seconds left... - basically infinite ammo for secondary weapons, seriously? - I could keep adding bullet points... but this is getting depressing. my point is... don't take the destiny pvp seriously... it is a joke, just have fun.
-
solution: stop playing crucible doing the same thing over and over and expecting change is the definition of insanity. learn.
-
It'd be cool if there were some sort of skill based leveling system, you know like if you lost games you went down and if you won you went up. This would keep people who are of similar skill levels paired in matches. If only some company would implement this into a game.. a game like halo 2.

Edited by tangmcgame: 10/22/2014 1:45:36 PMGame needs skill-based matchmaking. As frustrated as you get with underperforming teammates, they're probably just as frustrated with playing against more experienced and skilled opponents and getting hopelessly reamed in the process.
-
I always get put on a team of retarded casuals while the other team is stacked as -blam!-. It's really frustrating
-
Ive always played fps on the PC with mouse and keyboard, going to a controller is hard for me so I suck in PvP. I really enjoy Destiny but I avoid PvP.
-
Lol I feel you.
-
You NEED to find yourself a good clan bro. I have been rolling with Shaolin since launch and I've always had a minimum of 3 good pvpers to roll with at anytime of the day. Makes it so much more enjoyable. We win 80% of the time id say
-
Xbox one: Drestoh I'll actually play hard lol
-
Everyone needs to get the bounties done.
-
This is why Destiny needs Trueskill, that would definitely get me into crucible more.
-
It's so true.. So many shitters play PVP its a joke
-
Yep, it's very rare you will get more than one player on your team who goes over a 1.0 What speed is your internet?
-
Yeah playing with randoms that don't pull their weight is not good. I think 50% of my games were one sided just because my whole team doesn't know how to stop dying.
-
I could range anywhere from 1k to 3k on control but there are the occasional games I'll end up carrying the team. I'm not trying to brag, I'm an average crucible player but I do notice people who average 500-1500pts a game. I myself haven't been doing to well the past few games since I switched from a scout rifle to a hand cannon and a shotgun to a sniper.
-
Did you play halo and are you on ps4 if so that's your answer.
-
Listen, get a good team of pvp buddies and you'll always have fun. If people weren't so bad then you wouldn't be so good. Get it?
-
Have you really not noticed. Bungie gives legendarys and exotics to the losers. There's no motivation for randoms to win. Pvp with randoms is bad. Get a crew.
-
I understand the feeling. When I was level 11 I was getting top leaderboard with barely any skills unlocked. It's like any game, there are many people who aren't the greatest at what they are doing but think they are amazing. I would find people who say they have beaten the raid multiple times and they would die consecutively causing us to have 5 players instead of six.
