Sell me on a Faction
I'm not sure what faction I want to join or of I should just stick with the Vanguard and Crucible gear/weapons. I could use some help regarding what each faction stands for and if there's any incentive other than gear and weapons. Any help would be appreciated.

The different factions sell weapons and armor that affect 2 your strength, agility and intelligence abilities. buy from the faction that best suites what play style bests suits you.

What do you need weapon wise? Assault Rifle, go New Mon for vanquisher 8. Machine Gun, go dead orbit. What I did was rank up van/crucible to 3, rank up NM to 3, currently working on dead orbit.

On my Titan I picked dead orbit, sick black armor. It was a rumor that you get a black shader if you reach a certain rank. Still, it looks sick, anything else will make a Titan look like a retarded power ranger

2 RepliesOn my main, I chose dead orbit. Only wanted it because fully black gear is sick. On my new Titan, I'm sticking with vanguard so I don't need crucible marks. Basically, If you like PvP, pick a faction. If you don't, don't bother cause you need crucible marks for equipment

Didn't see a post on viewpoints so here's one for ya.... Dead Orbit-believes in independence from the traveler and seeks to flee earth. Future War Cult-wants to continue the war against the darkness. New Monarchy-basically wants to give someone a position of undeniable power (dictatorship).

1 ReplyLegendary scout rifle, "The Calling", I got it when I reached rank 3 with FWC as a rank up gift through the postmaster. I was at a point in my game where I would use scout rifles in pve and auto rifles in pvp because of the fire rate alone, enemy players would usually kill me before I could kill them with my scout against their autos. Then I got the upgrade for "The Calling" that changed my rounds to exploding rounds, thats when everything changed in the crucible for me.

IMO factions are for people who have time to put in the game who want very specific things from armor and weapon stats. For my Titan I want discipline and strength, for my warlock discipline and intellect, having those stats the way you want them can change the way you use your abilities and super. Examine your character and what abilities you use, pick a faction based on the stats of the armor and what you like. It's not a necessity but the more I play the more I have and want different setups/weapons/gear for different tasks or game modes. I like dead or bit for Titan and FWC for warlock.

Stick vanguard IMO. The factions really come down to which stats you prefer on your armor. I went New Monarchy for strength and intellect but by the time I had leveled up to rank three I had found better (or in one case the same) weapons the faction was selling just out in the wild. Vanguard gives you more choices on weapons after rank 3.

There really is no point to joining a faction. I can't think of one gun they sell that doesn't have a twin sibling available through either the Vanguard or Crucible quartermaster. Also, they only accept Crucible marks as payment for their stuff. So if you don't play a lot of Crucible, don't bother with the factions at all.

Vanguard, because you can actually purchase a weapon type you want and you know they'll have it.
