It’s the experience you have obtaining gear.

Speaking for myself, the problem isn’t how dificult or easy we get the gear. It’s the experience we have obtaining said gear. The problem with the current random loot system is that players are being rewarded disproportionate to the effort they put out. I finish a strike with the highest kills and zero deaths and get nothing where as my noob friend who I carried through the entire match get an exotic helm for his 5 kill contribution. We have the same problem with Xur, the items you buy don’t feel earned due the lack of effort required to obtain strange coins. If you ask me, each boss should drop a different Legendary/Exotic, and the chance of it dropping should increase as you increase the difficulty and frequency. Lots of MMO’s do this, to be honest when Bungie said Items would have an epic story behind them this is sorta what I expected. Crucible can be handled the same way, the better you preform the more likely you are to receive a Legendary/exotic Item. With some minimum requirements, like must have positive K/D or must place in the top 50% of players in the match; I think people would respond to a change like this positively because the effort to reword ratio would be more appropriately balanced.

  • Take the ability away to see other peoples shiny things would solve the "I did the highest on the damage meter so I should get something' problem, it worked very well for another game. Or just have a magic button people log in a push that gives them loot so they feel better. That might work to.
