Looking through my Grimoire, found something interesting
From the Warlock Ghost Fragment:

Who hasn't spent a dozen years scouring the ruins for one string of symbols, one clean code, one black talon. Titans just make a hmphing noise, if they've stayed awake. But when you've spent your life searching through arcana for ancient power, you have the urge to reach out and educate others. Especially if you've had one too many.

I had a broken vertebrae in my pocket that I'd borrowed from - yes, borrowed, I was going to put it back - what do you think you are, my conscience? It was a fossil, that means mineral replacement, a rock, basically. They can survive a few hours in my pocket. Do shut up.
The Cryptarchs weren't going to miss it. Everyone knows the Ahamkaras were hunted to extinction. There's nothing to be afraid of anymore.
Think of how mysterious this system is, I said. How much life sprang up when the Traveler came. Like the Ahamkara. Do you know the legends? The dragon that made promises? And I pulled out the fossil with a flourish -
She pulled out her knife and started to pick the dirt from her nails. That set me off.
You could never have brought down one of these, I said. Ever. Not the greatest Hunter, not the brawniest Titan.
Her eyes narrowed. She said, Oh? Is that so? And I saw right then that she wasn't going to pass on the challenge.
I've murdered a Guardian, I thought. She's going to die. It'll be my fault.
And I looked at the piece of spine in my hand and wondered - why did I say that? What moved me to such pride?[/b]
The part that interests me is that there is a trail to this supposedly dangerous dragon creature called an Ahamkara. There are armor pieces in the game that reference it also. Possible future DLC where you hunt one down? More dragon bone themed armor/weapons? I would be more than fine with that.

1 ReplyI have looked into the house of wolves dlc which is supposed to come out in mid spring as of now and it revealed some juicy rumors/ideas. My personal favorite is that the fact that the house of wolves is a clan and they rebelled against the queen. these particular fallen escaped to venus and hide at the top of that big elevator thing you can find. Here is where it gets interesting because at the top of this lift resides not only the fallen but also the last ahamkaras. The ahamkaras are not necessarily with the fallen but they are located near the house of wolves. When you clear the house of wolves kin you stumble upon these ferocious beasts and experience their untold strength first hand. After fighting them off you go to tell the queen you finished of her betrayers and report of the ahamkaras you found. She then tells you of where the dire or biggest/most badass one is located actually within the reef. This leads to the raid that is set up on the reef. ---------- This is a little farfetched to some extent but it is definitely something I would like to see and if not exactly it then something similar. LETS FIGHT SOME FREAKING DRAGONS BOYS!!!!!

5 Replieshis is the Grimoire Card relating to the Ahamkara for those who do not have it. Ghost Fragment: Legends 3 The Great Ahamkara Hunt After great deliberation it was determined that the Ahamkara be made extinct. It was not an easy decision. Power had been obtained from the bargains, and the City needed power. Knowledge had been gleaned, and the Ahamkara knew answers to questions no one had known to ask. But the price was too high. And no edict or forbearance seemed to stop Guardians from seeking them out, driven by hope, or vengeance, or despair. The call had to be silenced. So the Great Hunt did its work. And thus the Ahamkara were made extinct, their call silenced, their solipsistic flatteries erased, their great design - if it ever existed - broken. Of this you can be assured, oh reader mine. Additionally Hmmmm well the way the Ahamkara are described they are quasi-godlike beings held with a strange reverence by certain groups for their knowledge bordering on the omnipotent..... Other thing to note is that they must have been sentient/able to communicate with humanity as they are said to have made deals for knowledge, and answered questions nobody thought to ask. Personally they strike me as a "Cross-Roads Demon". Ask for a boon, play the price...... a clue however it what they are is the phrase "solipsistic flatteries" . Solipsism (Listeni/ˈsɒlɨpsɪzəm/; from Latin solus, meaning "alone", and ipse, meaning "self")[1] is the philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist. As an epistemological position, solipsism holds that knowledge of anything outside one's own mind is unsure; the external world and other minds cannot be known, and might not exist outside the mind. As a metaphysical position, solipsism goes further to the conclusion that the world and other minds do not exist. My understanding of sopisistism is that it is a philosophical stance whereby one believe that it is only they that exist, and that all other external things beyond the mind do not truly exist. As such I don't really think the Ahamkara is dragon like creature as opposed to some kind of being that was highly intelligent and required of Guardians difficult expressions of proof that it existed, thus affirming its existence. It seems like from the lore on it that the Ahamkara was tempting Guardians with its knowledge and possibly rhetoric....and was called be be silenced. Possibly this creature was psychic or possessed or a mind like the warlocks allowing it to do certain things like project a "Call" as it says in the Grimoire. Ahamkara is also the Sanskrit term for "ego" or "Egoism" oddly enough. Another reason I am led to believe that the Ahamkara isn't necessarily just a physical entity.

On Maat Mons you can occasionally see an Ahamkara is you look in the sky when you are on the transition screen.

The difference between the grimoire and the item descriptions in Dark Souls is that Dark Souls has a gameworld that lives up to the story content. Destiny needs a shtload of additional content to get to the same level. The closest it gets is the raid. Sitting on the ground waiting for my group to get together to trigger the door to atheon. The darkness and scale of that area feels epic.

Just read the title, and in particular the part where he was "reading through the Grimoire" Thought I'd pop in and laugh at everyone who actually wastes their time with that stuff. This story isn't worth the trouble. Don't waste your valuable free time on that junk

1 ReplyI've seen suggestions of time travel. I suspect we go back in time to stop the machine FWC used to teleport people forward and we wind up fighting THE amhakara (I think they're a species, not one dragon).

Yea I remember reading that card but I didn't know about the armor pieces that reference the dragon creature until I read your thread. I would like to find out more about this.
