Endgame: What is it?

I would like to start a discussion upon the topic of endgame material for Destiny. What do you feel it already has, could have or should not have? (Please keep in mind that this is targeted towards a population of people who have almost done everything there is to Destiny, even if it is a small population, the endgame still exists.) I believe this game has incredible potential if steered in the right direction, but the community needs to work together with the game designers to achieve this. The main thing that is puzzling me is this: When nearing the end of the journey towards things such as getting to level 30, obtaining the rarest items such as the vex mythoclast, searching for all those neat weapons you might want, grinding up factions, looting all the armor you need, what happens when you finish that? Are we supposed to create another class and redo that all over again as an endgame option or is there something we can do with all the progress we have made with our character/s. Sure, there is PvP, but even then we don't need to sink 100+ hours into PvE to be able to play that well in it. A well trained FPS player can just go into it and destroy despite never touching PvE. Plus, if you sink an extra 100+ hours into PvP as an endgame option, you get nothing out of it other than rep/ marks which are useless once you have everything.I feel this game is attempting to cater for all types of players at once. Instead of having X event for this group of players and Y event for this group of players, it has one universal event for all players, despite how you play the game. Its not the quality of the content in Destiny that is bothering me, rather it is limit on things within the game. I am in no position to say what should happen with this game but I feel if it is going to sustain its player base, it will need something different to just 1 universal weekly/monthly event to keep people interested. I would love to hear some suggestions of what people think about this particular topic, and please if you think the opposite of me, elaborate on it. No right or wrong things here.

  • Logic dictates that Bungie ups the level cap and introduces harder raids with better equipment and gear. That is how standard progression works. Hopefully they throw in some more story content (not really needed at this point) and maybe some more classes or abilities. With this usually comes more "fluff" items such as armor dye or allowing you to change the appearance of your character or player housing or any number of things. Usually though you can expect expanded raid content probably in the forms of weekly's, more raids, and more strikes. They may add more maps to multiplayer also. Not really a lot of options for them to go that would set them apart from other games.

    • The endgame sucks, they put caps on marks and limit rewards on nightfall/VoG to once per week(Unless you have time/effort to lvl up another character) to just draw this game out to an expansion, this IMO is a bad move.
