My Bad Seed Down is maxed out, 300 attack. When it came down to kill the oracles, it felt like it took forever. But when I switched to my Shadow Price, only at 257 attack, it seemed like I took them down much faster and more efficiently. So should I even bother with my pulse rifle in Vog?

If you are equipping ANYTHING besides VoC/AE/Fatebringer - IceBreaker/PR - Gjallarhorn/Hezen Revenge/Corrective Measure in VoG, you are doing it wrong.

Necrobump

My Praedyths Timepiece says otherwise. I am yet to have someone beat me in an Oracle-off
-
Necro for lolz
-
I take Strange Suspect into the vault (on normal, at least). Seems to be just fine.

pulse rifles are inferior everywhere
-
I think Praedyth's timepiece is probably the best pulse rifle in the game. It is basically the battle rifle judging from the clips I've seen. I want it. XD bring me back to the Halo days before the collection comes out!
-
Seeing how pulse rifles are meant for hitting crit spots which oracles do not have makes pulse rifles inferior in taking oracles down unless you have the raid one.
-
I use the hard raid pulse rifle, Praedyth's Timepiece. It does arc damage and has oracle disruptor. Does well in the raid.
-
Pray to rngesus that you get praydeths timepiece from the raid, it's a arc pulse rifle that -blam!-s oracles and people in pvp, I've only seen a handful of people who have it tho including myself
-
Atheon's timepiece is where it's at. I broke down the rifle you mentioned
-
Pulse rifles do great critical damage but base damage isnt too good in pve. However for the oracles a good auto rifle or sniper (with fast reload ) would be a good choice.
-
Use the raid pulse.
-
If you haven't noticed, pulse rifles deal nearly 3 times their regular damage when you score a critical hit. To keep from being over power, their body-shots are nerfed all to hell to allow for it. Unfortunately for you, an oracle doesn't have a weak point
-
Red death works for me
-
if you are going to use pulse rifles in vog their are only 2 viable options the red dath or the praedyths timepiece which is an ark pulse rifle that only drops on hard which is amazing because of the oracle bonus and such apart from that pulse rifles not worth it
-
If we are talking normal, i'll use the red death, because it heals . So taking out the adds isn't stressfull at all. I'm a hunter so when oracles pop, i use gunslinger to take out 4 oracles ( usually the ones in the back) and let the other 5 people take care of the easy to spot ones.
-
Pretty much, you need a 300 damage weapon. Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, Mythocast or Suros.
-
I use red death for confluxes, and fatebringer for the rest. (On hard). The added survivability, and high stagger of red death makes it great for the waves on the confluxes.

Edited by LaChef128: 11/9/2014 12:48:42 PMNo, but idiots are very inferior.... Don't be one of those. Seriously, use what you are comfortable with. Also impact and/or rate of fire is a big decider for me personally when choosing a weapon for raid.

Edited by Awx: 11/9/2014 10:42:15 AMPRs aren't nearly as useful as ARs, SRs, and HCs. I don't know why this is the case.

I got red death yday through a vanguard tiger strike (legendary engram) can't believe it!!!

Dude, pulse rifles are inferior pretty much all around. They just lack the DPS. Scout rifles only recently became better after the buff. Your best bet, unfortunately, is probably always going to be some kind of auto rifle.
