Outfitter and Shipwright Potential. (also, Grimoire in game)

Greetings, guardians! I have two very simple ideas (simple in the idea itself, the execution may not be so simple, at least not for the shipwright) I'm loving DESTINY (save for the Crucible, because I don't like living in a world of naught else but shotguns and fusion rifles, which are shotguns, let's be honest), but two things struck me. Both of them aesthetic only. 1. Our armors will eventually all end up the same, most likely, just different colors (shaders). (yes, with future DLC there will be more combinations capable of reaching top rank, but, still. ) 2. Our ships. To get the one you want requires luck (I have six RARES that I don't care for, but removing them grants nothing at all.) So, I have two thoughts here for both, listed respectively. 1. Have Eva, the Outfitter, provide a new service, where any armor you've dismantled before, your Ghost can store the physical appearance data of, and Eva can pull it from the Ghost, and layer it over your current armor. Essentially, this would simply be Vanity armor, with all the stats of your high level gear, but the appearance of whatever armor you've had before that you really liked. This serves two purposes. We have something more to spend Glimmer on, as well as giving us a use for all that useless armor parts we have from dismantling, and it let's us truly decide how we appear. We could even have a new inventory tab, just before SETTINGS, for Vanity items, or even just have it attached to the current Equipment tab, similar to how you "pull down" for Sparrow, Ship, and Shader customizations. (DIABLO III REAPER OF SOULS and MABINOGI have similar principles, as does VINDICTUS and DUNGEON FIGHTER ONLINE) 2. For the shipwright, any ships we Salvage, we can store the properties and parts of, letting us actively build and design our ship from several categories. Weapons, body, cockpit, engines, adornments. Again, a purpose for ships that we don't want, and more opportunities to show our personal tastes. Also, side note, now that I've more time, can we have a tab in the Inventory screen for the Grimoire? The interface already mimics a computer and mouse style, quite fluidly, so why not have the Grimoire? The stories inside are wonderful, and we should be able to see them in game, not have to log on a computer, to enjoy them. Thoughts? Comments? Pictures of cats?

  • I think building ships was once a possible game feature (or may be one in the future) Prior to the grimoire update, the Guardian Ships card had a secondary tab (similar to the stats tabs on enemy or weapon cards) that had a counter labeled "Ships Built"
