Attention to detail

So, I LOVE the attention to detail, however I noticed something odd here in the cosmodrome. The image above shows what I am fairly sure was once a rail car that carried Liquid Nitrobenzene; below is some logic behind how I came to that belief, and some problems with the image as it appears in the game. So the above image is a rail car with a Hazard Communication pictogram on it. The particular pictogram is part of the NFPA 704 system. The problem with this image is that the W on the white quadrant of the diamond isn't in "strikethrough" font. It is illegal to put the NFPA 704 "Fire Diamond" on a transport container (like a rail car or a semi trailer.) Also this is supposed to be Russian, but the NFPA is an American organization. The way this marking works is that the red = flammability the yellow = reactivity and the blue = heath hazards. Finally here is a list of chemicals that could have been in that tanker: Liquid Nitrobenzene (This is FAR AND AWAY the most likely) Hexamethyldisilazane (Bis(trimethylsilyl)amine) (This would likely be stinky) (Though some sources only give it a flammability rating of 1) (4-Aminobutyl)-Diethoxymethyl Silane So, I guess i want Deej to answer these obvious discrepancies (because I have only been on these forums a little while, but I THINK this is how things are done around here.) Edit: I found on the internet that РФБА stands for РОССИЙСКОЕ ФЕДЕРАЛЬНОЕ БЮРО АЭРОНАВТИКИ or the Russian Federal Bureau of Aeronautics. This unfortunately makes it even less likely that a transport container would have an NFPA marking displayed.

  • You still gotta remember that even though that rail car is from "old russia" you really don't know what time it is from, other than some time way in the past (relative to the present time of the game, not real world time). This means it could still be from a century from now (real world) and it would still fit in "old russia". I don't know if it ever gives you an exact date on when the Traveler gets to the solar system, but lets say it got here today (real world). Some of the lore talks about how people started living longer and tech was advancing and whatnot, well I'm sure at that same point the world was unifying a lot more. Whats to say at some point early in the Traveler days there wasn't a big summit to help unify things around the globe like make a worldwide language, force everybody to the metric system, force everybody to use the new global "fire diamond" on any containers so that anybody from any nation would be able to ID what kind of substance was in it. With the idea of space travel, I'm sure other travel was even more commonplace too. So it'd be more likely that more "foreigners" would be at the scene of accidents, easier if anybody at all could immediately get a good idea what could be in the container. Maybe the diamond even got changed a bit so it was easier to understand in other countries. Maybe the strikethrough on "W" for reacting with water was confusing for some nations so they just changed it to a W. The point is, they can make up whatever history for the game they want. The rail car, even though it is really old, doesn't necessarily mean its even built yet in real world time. Tons of things could have changed by the time it got built and in use and eventually crashed. Also, its unlikely you'd get a response out of anybody from Bungie about something like this.
