Idea for 3 new Subclasses...

Back when we were all still playing the Beta, a lot of people noticed a 3rd blank slot for Subclasses, and assumed that meant we'd have a third subclass for each of the three characters (Titan, Hunter, Warlock) in the final game. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. There is no 3rd subclass... at least, not yet. Perhaps it could be added in future DLC? Maybe... but I've been sitting on some rough ideas for some new subclasses for awhile, and I thought I'd share them. I'll be using the Xbox controller as an example in the descriptions, as I'm on Xbox; but those should translate to Playstation well enough. If you hope to one day be able to play as a Solar-powered Titan, a Void-powered Hunter, or an Arc-powered Warlock, here are some possibilities: [b]Vanguard Knight[/b] [i](Titan Subclass)[/i] [u]Light[/u]: [b]Solar[/b] [u]Super[/u]: [b]>>>Sword of Osiris<<<[/b] [b]Sword of Osiris gives the Titan a fiery, two-handed sword of Solar light, similar to the Sword of Crota; it's bigger, slower, and deals more damage than Bladedancer, and takes just as long to charge. Controls are similar to the Sword of Crota; RB for rapid strikes, RT for power attack, and RB + LB while active for a deadly ranged attack that completely drains the Super meter when used.[/b] [b]Vanguard Marksman[/b] [i](Hunter Subclass)[/i] [u]Light[/u]: [b]Void[/b] [u]Super[/u]: [b]>>>Voidlight Rifle<<<[/b] [b]The Voidlight Rifle is similar to Gunslinger; but instead of a pistol, it gives you a spectral sniper rifle filled with Void light. Much longer range, better accuracy, and higher damage than Gunslinger... but you only get 1 shot, and that's it. A hit on the target causes an explosion that deals AoE damage; this damage is magnified if the target is also killed. Can be upgraded to allow the Marksman to hover in midair when zoomed, or cloak when their Super is active.[/b] [b]Vanguard Electromancer[/b] [i](Warlock Subclass)[/i] [u]Light[/u]: [b]Arc[/b] [u]Super[/u]: [b]>>>Arc Magister<<<[/b] [b]Arc Magister grants the Warlock powers similar to the Hive Wizard; when activated, the Warlock gains the power to hover in midair and can move much faster, and can bombard enemies with Arc beams just like the Hive Wizard using the Right Trigger. When upgraded, the Warlock can also create a cascade of lightning using RB + LB, which drains the rest of their Super meter. This ability has a longer recharge time than the Warlock's other Supers.[/b] Well, that's all I got. Post your thoughts.   • the third sub for titan should be a solar mech suit with 5x more health and 5x more damage for 10s.

  • My biggest issue is that the Titan subclass you have is a close range melee attack, and Titans already have on with Striker (yes, I know, there are those instances where some guy figures out how to practically fly across a map, but its still considered close range). Logically, the third subclass is probably going to be a long range attack, like a beam of fire or something. As for the Hunter, there's a support class that's missing there, so I assume that there's probably going to be a sort of Hunter "medic" class that has a healing buff or something. But at the very least, some kind of support.

  • The reason I'm not entirely convinced on these specifics is that there is something missing: subclass types. On a Warlock there is a long range (Voidwalker), and a support class (Sunsinger), but no close range. The Titan has a close range (Striker), and a support class (Defender), but no long range. The Hunter has a long range (Gunslinger), and close range (Bladedancer), but no support. You were correct with the missing elements, but adding another close range to a Titan makes two of them almost the same type.

    I'd like to point out that the new subclasses have already been leaked. Not fully but the names, supers, and 3 grenades are allegedly known. I like your ideas though!

    • See...as many other people have stated. The titan and warlocks supers are great. I really feel like the titans is good but more power than the hunters bladedancer? That's a bit of an overkill considering bladedancer is an instant killing unless the enemy is a boss in PvE or a shielded titan/warlock. My idea for a support hunter super is this. Stalker Light: void Super: Fog of the void Like the wizards ability, this super involves the hunter creating a dense smokey like haze of the void. While the hunter and his teammates are within the haze they receive buffs. The HUD doesn't change but a little smoke effect is added around the edges so they know they are in the haze but doesn't block their vision. The basic buffs would just be increased reload speed and quick health and shield regen. One other passive effect is that your name/health bar is not revealed to enemies outside the haze, it will be a dense fog(same goes for allies within the fog). Hit markers won't show for enemies shooting into the fog either. When enemies step into the haze they lose their HUD, movement speed is slowed, and they slowly lose health. There is also a disoriented fog effect while they are in the haze. Avoiding it from being anymore powerful, the perks would be as following. Perk 1: area of the fog size is slightly increased. Perk 2: damaged received while in the fog is reduced (it is only fog so of course any ally and yourself can be damaged while inside) Perk 3: ...I got nothing. Maybe instead of enemies losing health as a passive effect, it will be a perk. I'm aiming for something similar to the titans bubble shield. Something that is good in control. That's my idea for a third hunter support class.

      • The hunter one is ridiculous, and you want to give the titans "vanguard knight" which is basically the sword of crota in all spectrums of destiny, and make the warlock into a wizard and give them a better chance for pushing bosses of of edges

      • I liked Titan and warlock but the Hunter one... I don't get it, would it be like a Nova Bomb rifle, because if its only a one shot and you might not kill them it's not really a super. I really think Hunter's should get something for PvE since their supers are next to useless in PvE. Titans have Ward of Dawn and Warlock's have sun singer, so you know...

        • I personally think that the warlock one would be op I was thinking something along the lines of increased movement speed and blinding enemies within a certain radius, along with increased melee damage to make it more like a melee class. The super could be called lightening form. Haven't worked out all of the details yet.

        • I like the titan and warlock ideas but the Hunter should definitely be a support class. Also I think that the 3rd subclass should be really over powered but in order to unlock it the other two would have to be completely finished.

        • I think for the Titan I'd rather have something with more range, like three or four Iron Man style hand blasts that you can direct that do massive damage, or a controlled blast that you can direct that deals solar energy.

          i like them all, but the hunters subclass is vastly weaker in comparison. jumping to an idea, a hunter support subclass. ill borrow part of your setup :O Vanguard High Scout (Hunter Subclass) Light: Void Super: >>>Void Scout<<< Super scout would be sort of a combination of bladedancer and gunslinger, albiet less powerful. While active, the hunter gains increased sprint speed, and duel weilds a pair or void hand cannons. The hand cannons would be controlled using bumpers, and would be unable to score precision shots (however has a higher damage output), and would not require reloading. unlike blade dancers and gun slingers, each shot would not drain the energy or end it sooner. the duration would be about 30sec. bonus abiltys (upgrades), would be that fireteam members can see enimies through objects similar to the red outline showing who killed you, and invsinility upon the skills end, allowing safe escape. just an idea that adds a bit of support and raises the power scope to geclose to the others.

          • Hunters are HUNTERS, one sniper rifle super shot is nothing to hunt with. I want a bow lol forget that, give us 10 void shots with a void bow and void arrows.

              • So much OP hahaha! But I like em. Unfortunately everyone would play warlock for that ability. In fact, all three of these subs are immensely more powerful than the ones in the game. Add in all the perks and you have the super sub for each class.

                None of these are balanced.. With titan you'll have another blade dancer, warlock floating around in mid air is just op, and finally hunter having a sniper with only 1 shot is underpowered due to the fact that it's a boring rip off of the golden gun and why do you need more accuracy when it's one shot. Golden gun can have 4 shots, and has insane range already so i can see people not using that hunter subclass.

                The hunters super would be horribly bad in pvp and the warlocks super would be the most incredibly op thing in the game

              • As cool as these sound. They are all more powerful than the original subclasses. Which would ruin the game because who wants to see everyone playing as the same subclasses. They would need to be much more balanced.

              • A lot of sound ideas. I think the third hunter class is going to be weak due to the fact that it won't be able to make surplus of Orbs of Light for teammates. However, I think if you give the hunter a high-powered void scout rifle with a magazine of 5, this would make him more of a dynamic player.

              • In regards to the Titan sword class, it could be made that your health goes to exactly 50% when you use it, regardless of your current health. This would make sure that all of the swords offensive power is compensated by a lack of defense.

              • What if the hunter got a team buff? Wolf pack All allies nearby deal void damage, move faster, deal more damage, and get damage resist. The buff scales per ally nearby so the more allies near by the more powerful it becomes.

                The Titan sword class would piss people off too much off look at what most people think about blade dancer if you made it a single slash I think it would be balanced
