shouldnt a self revive nullify a death count ?
Edit: PvE also, Sunsingers lose their Bounty progression even though they were able to circumvent the normal death cycle
Edit Edit: also after reserving your power and using it to retrieve a fallen ally from behind enemy lines during a Nightfall, you are graciously rewarded with a death mark against your name
looking over the below comments,
PvP death is death and should count, but maybe add a medal for killing within a certain time frame of a self revive
a few possible names for the medal
-"you should of shot him again"
-"next time remove his head"
-"ooooh that sucks"
-"braaaaains"
-"double tap"
PvE
remove the death count from the tally, but yes reset the bounties as the point of the bounty is to make you cautious where as Sunsingers are often reckless.
again award a medal for one or more of the following situations.
- saving the fireteam from a wipe (even if it was only in the Nightfall, easily the most nerve racking part of this game)
-reviving allies within a certain time frame of a self revive (also i believe they are the only class that can do 3 revives in the time frame required for a medic)
-getting kills after a self revive like the PvP scenario above should award medals
ps: all classes have class specific medals, these thoughts are no different

No, may as well be cheating death. Would you be upset if you killed someone twice and only got 1 point?
-
I'm a sun singer , and I agree . If I die , it's my fault because I f***ed up . I don't think I'll even use the perk (except on VoG) because there are plenty of better perks .
-
The reason it's a resurrection is because YOU DIED, whatever the reason, you still got killed. It would make no sense for a self resurrection to discount the fact that you died in order to use it.
-
It should always count as a death because all it does is prove that you suck so you need a second chance
-
Sunsinger is immune when casting the revive.
-
Voidwalker is better than sunsinger. I get to kill many sunsingers twice because of fireborn.
-
Im a warlock and i say no. If we died its because we messed up and deserve the death count. Simple as that
-
They earned the kill in PvP so they should get it but you shouldn't keep the death. If the super was offensive then you may have been able to nuke your way out of death but this is the super for the class and I would like to see it presented as a strategic move and not just a quick respawn in place.
-
It should be a kill in PvP no matter what because you were rightfully killed by another player who earned his kill. But I agree that it shouldn't count as such in PvE when doing a don't die bounty.
-
It should count towards the death count. In order to be reborn from the ashes one must die....
-
No. They still died
-
They still died, still counts?
-
the sunsinger is so useless
-
No, sunsinger here, they're working as intended.
-
I use that class but I still don't agree I just get to respawn not stop death.
-
Edited by Imp-C-Bravo: 10/9/2014 3:19:22 AMYeah they resurrected. I say let them not get a death point. The game actually classifies it as a 'near death state.' I don't think anyone should get a death tally until they have respawned from the death. This would affect skirmish as well.
-
No it shouldn't, you still died. You just don't need anybody to revive you. Self resurrection isn't the same as not getting killed.
-
Not at all. It's a self-revive so the point of it is being able to get back up right there and now, as opposed to in a random spot in a few seconds. It's still a death and they still lost that fight, so it should still reflect that loss.
-
also another instance i feel a death tally shouldnt count, and that is in PvE, ok yes i died but ive purposely been holding back that super so i could extract a fallen ally from behind enemy lines and safely make it back my self.... guess what i get penalised for it
-
No, cause they did die. Don't want k/d junkies to use it just for that.
