The Reddit guy, now this video. 0_0

I can't say I am suprised this has been going on since DLC has arrived, back in the days of Halo 2. But I can't not even say that DLC for Halo 2 wasn't already made. I was 16 at the time and really had no idea what I was doing besides shooting people. As for everything else it has been long known DLC is made with games and sold as extra content. This is what killed the expansion market. This is also why trying to call DLC 1 and DLC 2 expansions is laughable. Because those of us who have been around since Expansions existed, they sold for 30 bucks, and would be both those DLC's in one package release at same time. What has me curious is If it wasn't for Microsoft Bungie wouldn't be where it is today. Halo wouldn't have been where it is today without the support and tools they handed off. This whole content being in game already, comes off like a Activision move. But then again, it also comes off like a plan to begin with when it came to leaving Microsoft to join Activision. To shaft the consumer the best way possible. Many people don't realize the amount of games getting produced monthly and sent out into the market every week has exceeded to a extreme limit in the last 10-20 years. The way the gaming industry is going, it is heading towards a crash. Which in the end will either corrupt the industry even more, or will send the industry back into what it originally did back in the day. Make the games for the people with full potential and full heart. Not for greed, and money. This is just part of what is going to continue to happen in the future and is only going to anger the consumer base even more. Be it the next CoD, Gears, Borderlands. DLC is just extra toppings we don't need to pay for, let alone shouldn't have to pay for. DLC is the flu of the modding scene. It aims to destroy a consumer, yet we will eventually figure out a resistance to it. Edit: Here is another area that someone managed to find. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-players-find-yet-another-dlc-area/1100-6422900/?utm_source=gamefaqs&utm_medium=partner&utm_content=news_module&utm_campaign=hub_forum Edit 2: I forgot about this video. ZP's Review from Escapist site. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/9749-Destiny-Review-Bungies-Halo-Followup remind you these reviews are part of escapist yet you will see those destiny trailers use some random quote from them saying how great game it is. 12-9-15 Edit 3: Destiny is officially beyond broken. If you don't have the DLC you can't buy armor, or weapons from vender's, they either are DLC gear, or require a accommodation token, which requires the DLC to get. Oh, and the weekly strike and nightfall this week. DLC. Good Job Bungie/Activision. You manage to make a bad thing even worse. lol

  • This game was pitched to me and constantly stated as a type of game the world had never seen before, and that's what I was expecting. What I got was good, but it wasn't revolutionary or new. They have so much potential here all the enemies are different and difficult in there own way, but it feels very hallow as though I'm playing an extended demo

    • What's really sad here is the that this area looks like one featured in their release videos. I learned my lesson: never buy a Bungie game digital. Never buy DLC passes up front. Never buy another Bungie game. Many lesions were learned here.

      • DLC is cool, when it's substantial. And the rest of the game is sizable. Example of Great DLC, Borderlands 2... Wow, they really went overboard. DLC was additional and it was fun, but it was Additional, not Primary the arc of the original game in the box. You got a completely satisfying experience, and then you got More satisfaction. Bitterblack Isle in Dragon's Dogma, another example... There was so much content added by that simple dungeon addition... New weapons and armor, new classes of items, missions, boss battles, side-battles (super bosses), exclusive stuff, et cetera. I bought all the Mass Effect DLC. The Game itself, everything you did mattered and contributed to the story. The DLC like Citadel added to the actual End-Game. Unfortunately, on the other hand there was Mass Effect 3's extended cut / ending DLC. Destiny's DLC feels a little like that, which they ended up giving away free, because it annoyed people so much the way it was handled. I don't care about it being on the disc. I just care about the experience of the initial package, and then what that DLC actually adds, in determining what DLC is worth it and what feels like a cash-grab. Not saying Destiny is either. I still have a mixture of thoughts on it at this point. Especially after how The Queens Wrath and Iron Banner have turned out... a handful of guns, 2 shaders, 1 class item, 2 emblems, and bounties that are double the time-consumption of regular vanguard / crucible bounties.

        • I don't mind DLC either but this pay wall crap has got to stop. On disc areas intentionally cut off because you have to pay is so frustratingly annoying. I know it's a business decision. I understand that this may save download space in the future. But this video shows that all of the assets are not only there but already ACCESSIBLE and working. Dead ghosts that you get lore for? Come on! The only thing missing are the scripts! Activision and Bungie this whole project is slowly becoming a disaster.

        • When I started gaming expansions were worth their money. This is the time before consoles became household items, PC was the most prolific platform people were playing on and you bought your games in huge ass cardboard boxes. Those expansions came in those boxes, they added hours on end of extra content, content that was clearly developed with as much care as the base game was. Nowadays DLC is just an easy way to line those corporate thieving bastard's pockets. Release a game, throw in 'extra' (on the disc) content for €15 per DLC (each DLC contains two new MP maps or something) and call it a day. What pisses me off is the inbred sacks of excrement that keep buying them, it's people that fail to complain when they are being ripped off that lead to this. the only way I see this issue resolving itself is by us, the customer, punishing developer/publishers for this behaviour by simply not buying from them. Unfortunately for every person not buying the twentieth goddamn iteration of CoD there are fifteen teenage kids lining up to spend their parent's money on it. Sad story, sad truth.

        • I am okay with DLC if you do not need it to play. Adding extra multiplayer maps is fine, but when you take out some of the actual story to force people into buying more of your game? That's where the line is drawn.

        • I remember when this dlc crap started popping up several years back, I didn't like it then and I dam sure don't like it now. I can honestly say I've never bought a piece of dlc in my life. I either play the game as is or I wait the couple of years for the definitive edition to release. With that said I think I'm going to buy the dlc for destiny because I like it that much. December is a ways off so we'll see if I still feel that way in a few months.

            • I'm disgusted at some of the people defending this practice. "YOU PAY 4 WAT U GIT LOL. DON LIK IT DONt BIE DLc, nerrd." I'm seeing so many fellow forum members trying to argue that there isn't anything wrong with this content being locked off. It isn't just geometry. This is real polished content that can be flooded with enemies and chests with the flick of a switch at bungies office. Stop it. This is wrong and has to stop. All of this should be included in the game that I paid for.

            • What's really hilarious to me is that Activision and Bungie seemed to think the gaming community is so naive that noone would notice that DLC was already on the disc. Hey Bungie, don't you remember Halo 2 superjump glitches? The community always finds ways to get around things, from loot cave, to atheon falling off cliff, to finding ways into your hidden DLC etc. You thought you could play us and you got burned, I hope Destiny is your last franchise because companies need to be put in their place by the community because we are the ones who buy your product and it looks like you will be the first in line.

              • Agree 100%. Problem is the younger generation that grew up playing these games don't remember what it was like to actually buy a WHOLE game. Not this $60 beta bs we were handed. The DLC's are ONLY supposed to be the small extra things to do. Like a whole new world after the game has finished. Another VoG run. And the DLC's wouldn't be $40. They would be like $5-$20 depending on what the content was.

              • I completely agree with you, the greed is getting a bit blatant and ridiculous. Bungie should just release the game they had originally intended otherwise they will be losing a whole lot of customers.

              • The problem with Destiny is it does not feel like we got a full game that will then be expanded upon in DLC. It feels like we got 1/3 of the story and are being charged $90 for the actual complete game. And the evidence of assets already on disc is defiantly not helping player/customer morale here.

                • I believe that the rise in the push for DLC's is due to the success of "micro-transaction" games and such that people regularly dump an unhealthy amount of money into. Games like the never winter mmo, clash of clans, etc. Cell phone gaming has opened the floodgates for this kind of behaviour. People just don't understand that spending 5 or so dollars 10 times over is the same thing as going out and dropping 50 bucks.
What has me curious is If it wasn't for Microsoft Bungie wouldn't be where it is today.
While the rest of your post is just nonsense interlaced with speculation and rambling personal opinions, this statement is demonstrably false. Bungie put Microsoft on the console map. Microsoft specifically bought them out after being blown away by a demo of Halo and Halo became the only reason their dog shit of a first console survived for any length of time. If you can't get this simple fact straight, it doesn't speak well for the rest of your post.

                  • There are 2 types of DLC: the ones that enhance the gaming experience and the ones made to line the pockets of the company. Skyrim for example. Three DLCs. Three. All of which enhanced the gameplay experience. Yes, we paid for them but did you feel cheated when you bought them because they were weak? You can buy the full game and all three DLCs for less than £20 now. Now take Dead or Alive 5 (I love that game btw). Scores and scores of costumes and other things that take well over $100 if you want to own everything. That price has not changed. Basically, DLC is great if it's done right. If not, it's an expensive chore that cheats you out of a full game experience.

                    • If I'm going to pay $20.00 for dlc, I fully expect the game to increase in size by a full 33.3%. I'm not sure how difficult that will be with destiny as it only feels like 3/4th of a game anyway. I guess we need to hit cruise control and keep plodding along.

                      • Upon going to nearly all DLC areas and collecting ghost, the Grimoire talks about Jupiter,Saturn, and Mercury. One went along the lines of
It is possible for Guardians to reach Jupiter( or Saturn) with the right Jumpship.
If they add new planets to explore in the DLC I'd say buy the DLC, but if they're going to add those planets in Destiny 2 and leave us with the 3 planets, 1 moon, and 1 Astroid Graveyard then no don't buy the DLC. But only time will tell. Also if you find the ghost from the DLC areas through glitching, I recommend reading the Grimoire.
