Declaration of Departure

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one gamer to cease interaction with a game, and to allocate his limited gaming time elsewhere, exercising his consumerist right, a decent respect to the opinions of his fellow gamers requires that he should declare the causes which impel him to the separation. I hold this truth to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these is the Pursuit of Happiness - that to pursue this end, games are created by the people, for the people, that whenever a game becomes destructive of this end, it is the right of the gamer to abandon it, and to acquire a new game, guiding his choice with such principles and experience, as to him shall seem most likely to effect his Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that a game long played should not be set aside for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience has shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abandoning the games which they have bought. But when a long train of abuses and irritations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce their pleasure to absolute Boredom, it is their right - it is their duty - to cease playing such games, and to pursue new experiences for their future delight. Such has been the patient sufferance of this gamer; and such is now the necessity which constrains me to alter my allocation of leisure time. The history of Destiny is a history of repeated irritations and frustrations, all having the direct object of the reduction of my enjoyment with this game. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world. Bungie has created a very small game, consisting of four small planet-themed maps, a social area, and a few crucible arenas. Bungie has recycled content for the end-game, evidencing only the barest effort to provide a different experience. Bungie has also recycled the map for the story missions, beginning them in the same area and engendering déjà vu. Bungie has also recycled content for the Queen's Wrath event, and additionally removed other material benefits to experiencing this content. Bungie has failed to provide an engaging story, offering in its place frustratingly enigmatic characters who "don't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain." Bungie had refused their assent to content, the most entertaining and necessary for plotlines, but instead put it behind a paywall. Bungie has exhibited Destiny's lore at a website unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the game of Destiny, for the sole purpose of discouraging players from discovering it. Bungie has failed to provide methods to communicate with fellow players, either by movement of character or sound of voice. Bungie has rewarded the least skilled in PvP matches, where verily a dominating player receives no item at all. Bungie has refused, to correct the imbalances in PvP, the players remaining in the mean time exposed to all to the dangers of auto-rifles without, and shotguns within. In every stage of these frustrations, I have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms on the Feedback forum: my repeated petitions have only been answered by repeated injury. A developer, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a bad game designer, is unlikely to supply fun games to a free people. Nor have I been wanting in my time playing Destiny. I have from time to time played all the Crucible modes. I have conversed with my common kindred to join Heroic Strikes, which would supply challenge and interest. They too have felt the emotions of ennui and of frustration. I must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces my departure, and hold them, as I hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in PvP, in PvE Friends. I, therefore, a gamer, with my fellows in Agreement, appealing to the supreme judge of the world for the rectitude of my intentions, do, in my own name and by the authority of my own rights, solemnly publish and declare, that I am, and of right ought to be, no longer playing Destiny, and that I will not be buying any DLC, and that I will give full voice to my reasons, and do all the other acts and things which a gamer may of right do. EDIT: whoops, I'm giving the wrong impression. This is a reaction to all the "I'm leaving" threads.
