So its [i]striking[/i] (budduhtiss) to me how many people play the Titan class and don't know how to use 2 of the better grenades we have. This might be kinda obvious to some, but as I see more people playing as a Titan, I see it more and more often. This will address the Lightning grenade (the best overall Titan grenade), and the Spike grenade (the best Defender Grenade). Many Titans seem to just huck them at the ground and hope the enemy walks over it. This basically means someone has to be VERY close, or above it to be hit, because the grenades both have a conical area of effect. However, if you instead throw it at a wall, it will stick, and it produces a wide cone of destruction aimed away from that wall that can spread across an entire Control point or hallway. In PvP (particularly Control), this is a small miracle. When paired with appropriate perks, a lightning grenade can last almost 10 seconds (guessing here, don't have an official time), and that can lock down an objective and net you 2-3 kills if your enemy is trying to capture. Spike grenades don't last as long, but they kill much faster. They're more centered for stopping a cap in progress than area denial. If an enemy is capping B, throw your grenade at the wall opposite their position, and step out the room giggling evilly as they die trying to capture the point. Don't waste your grenade by throwing it on the ground. In PvE, throwing it at a wall instead of the ground allows you to focus damage on groups of opponents in an area, instead of hoping they walk over your grenade. It can be especially effective when tossed near an enemy spawn point, such as a Vex spawn or Fallen Skiff drop. You can also use it to damage enemies as they exit those darkness filled doorways while Dinklebot is hacking something for the millionth time. You can wipe or weaken entire groups of enemies this way. Now go forth, and shock the crap out of your chosen foe. [b]TL;DR Throw your Lightning/Spike grenades at the wall behind/beside your opponent if you wanna kill them, not their feet.[/b]
