You either love it or you hate it. There is no middle ground. At least that's the conclusion you would come to when visiting the forums here. And with the new patch out now Bungie seems to be damned if they do and damned if they don't. Let's all just take a deep breath and step back a little. From all of the strong emotions Destiny has evoked it sort of highlights one thing. Everyone wants this game to be as good as it can possibly be. Even the most vicious hostile criticisms are coming from people who have invested themselves in the game. Destiny has captivated them just as it has the people who love the game. Someone who dislikes the game truly dispassionately (absolutely not their cup of tea) would sell it or leave it and the forums altogether. It seems to me that all of us here on Bungie.net no matter our many differences of opinion all have the same goal at heart. To make Destiny better. Yep, that's right. The haters and the lovers have a common cause, whether by intention or accident it's still there. For many different reasons: some people dislike Destiny, some people like Destiny, some are only interested in trash talking and others in unquestioning loyalty to Bungie/Activision; but all sides require you to actually care about this game - and caring means you have invested some interest in Destiny as apposed to lost interest in it. These are just my observations of course. Take them or leave them. I'm just hoping people can relax a little, embrace the thing(s) that make them smile about the game, and try to offer more constructive criticism for the betterment of Destiny. Me, I like the game. I find it entertaining to play and I like that it took a risk in being something slightly different. Is it perfect? No. No game is (even the ones we cherish most). Does it need improvement? Very much so. But that won't stop me from enjoying what it does well right now. P.S. For the record I don't like marmite.
