  • I thought that EA were bad but the lack of communication or some sort of planned schedule from Bungie / Activision is really bad, in fact borderline disgusting. I think that there is major problems within the Bungie team or that they are receiving conflicting "orders" and information from Activision which is slowing progression of actual game fix's down. I really feel that publishers (Activision) once the game is released should leave all actual in game related decisions to the development team. I have been gaming since the VIC 20 days so I have seen a fair share of great game releases and terrible ones with most of the bad games launches having the publisher involved somehow. Prime example is Battlefield 4; EA rushed Dice to release the game early and it was a total mess, actually broken would be a better word and this is coming from a gamer who has played BF since Battlefield 1942. Once the publisher took a step back and let Dice pick up the pieces, the developers have managed to backtrack and now BF4 runs pretty well but will forever be tarnished and I can see the same thing happening here, if things don't move in a positive direction quickly. I bet you that right now Activision are trying to micro-manage Bungie on pretty much all of the areas that matter with this game with damage control probably one of they main concerns; all it takes are a few high profile articles saying that Activision has allowed the release of an unfinished product (Lawsuit Pending under Trading Standards) or have deliberately held back content to be used as DLC because of the overall lack of content with all the cuts that may have taken place (This would be borderline Fraud). The Bungie team right now probably have to pass every single little detail through Activision before it gets approved and released to us which is probably causing the lack of communication (Activision is telling Bungie to keep quiet on certain matters due to legal concerns) and the strange updates that we are getting but are nothing to do with the patch that we are all waiting for. This is such a shame as I can see so much potential with Destiny but I am finding it hard to keep motivated ever since I got passed level 20 and I am almost at the point where I am having to force myself to play it with little enjoyment. I am sticking with the game though, as I want to see what the game is like once all the DLC is out. One last thing and this goes to Activision. It does not matter how many people purchase the first DLC pack as to whether you release the second DLC and the reason is Season Pass holders and game pre-orders. Saying things like, well if we don't sell enough of the first DLC then we might not be able to afford to release the second DLC; thats borderline blackmail and is also a load of rubbish. Bungie, do what Dice did and tell your publisher to back off and give your development team space to breath and get the patches rolling out and a schedule. Publishers seem to be stuck in the past and think that the gaming community will just play anything and don't have the intelligence to see what is being presented to them. Well Activision, it is time to wake up, smell the coffee and see the "light" as the range of gamers now is not what it used to be e.g I am a 33 year old male who is a Crypto-Currency and Linux software developer, Stockbroker and user side website penetration tester. If the lack patches carry on then I think I am going to be tempted to abandon the light and give the darkness a go :-)
