Cute Teacher Story

A random freshman just walked up to me and said he needed help. He was carrying poster board and a book. "Are you doing an English project? What do you need help with?" I asked. "Oh, this? Oh no, I don't need help with that." He tossed his rolled up poster board onto a nearby desk. "I heard you are level 27 in Destiny? Do you really play?" I logged into Bungie.net and showed him my profile. "Kid, I'm not a PvPer," I said, "so I can't help you with--" "Oh no! Not that. Could you help me with one of the Queen's missions? No one I know plays. Is that okay?" "Sure... but can I at least know your name, first?" This officially cheered me up today.

  • That's a cool story! I'm a middle school teacher myself, and the kids think it's hilarious that I talk Destiny with them when they finish their work. I don't usually play with anyone of them, because I can get a little salty when I game, but a lot of them go on my YouTube channel (which I made before I started teaching) and watch my gameplay videos and such.
