Ideas for new content

1. Survival Modes This is essentially what it sounds like. It'd either be like horde mode in Gears of War where you kill wave after wave of enemies, with rewards after every 5/10/15/ whatever waves (and possibly even whatever 100 kills you personally get, dropped by said 100th kill) and Defense, like what you do to protect the Vex conflux thing. In that mode, you'd have to protect it from waves, and every whatever wave the conflux will throw up loot. Basically just a way to break up the strike/patrol/crucible. 2. Exotic story missions. Basically, if you have an exotic gun or piece of gear (but especially guns), then you get to do a story mission that explains the origins and continues the weapons "history". It wouldn't be much, but it'd be an extra bit of story that could flesh out the world and make those awesome weapons feel a little more awesome. 3. Sparrow Races. Everyone likes the sparrow, no one's really complained about it yet. Heck, I've seen this idea come up a lot for stuff to do at the tower. Basically, it could function on the same premise the Vanguard/Crucible mark system. You enter races on standard sparrows (don't want that person with a purple sparrow beating the guys with greens senseless) and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gets marks. Those marks can be taken to a vendor who can sell Sparrows, upgrades for said sparrows, etc. 4. Barber shop, Mechanic, and Plastic surgery Another thing I've seen mentioned in the forums. We need a way to customize our characters after creation. Not saying change race or anything like that, but hair color/style, skin color, eye color, face type. That's all stuff that would be neat to change. Exo's, of course, not having hair or anything, could visit the mechanic, while Awoken and Humans could visit the barber and plastic surgeon. Just a little something else to spend Glimmer on, and a way to introduce any new customization ideas. 5. Crafting Okay, so you've hit your glimmer cap, and you've gotten a crap ton of mats from patrol missions you did while you were bored. Why not be able to do something with those besides pour them into weapons or gear? Here comes the crafting suggestion. Nothing fancy, but you go to some kind of 3D printer space in the Tower, you use mats to know how to produce mats in the future (turn in 50 relic iron, get the recipe to turn glimmer into relic iron). Or maybe find recipes for stuff in chests, or from the gunsmith. You can then craft components for a sweet purple gun, or some piece of armor. Something you made yourself, gave it traits from a select list even. It'd just be something else to get people excited about, but I can also forsee some problems with a system if handled incorrectly, so it'd need to be balanced a lot in house before putting it in the hands of players. 6. Deeper faction content. From what I've learned of the factions from the grimoire, they're pretty friggin' interesting. There's a lot there to work with. So my suggestion is being able to redo specific story missions with slightly or even radically changed spawn locations, objectives, etc for a faction once you get your reputation with them up. For instance, going to the Archive for Future War Cult, scalping some specific info that the tower is keeping from them for one reason or another. Or going on a patrol for New Monarchy with the intention of killing 500 hive. And for these missions, you could get unique blue or purple gear, or even just marks and enhanced rep. Just something to flesh out the factions intentions and the overall effect they have on the lives of travelers. That's all I got for now, but I like to think there's enough here to work with as it is.

  • #2 sounds good to me just one little mission to flesh it out some sounds easy enough to do. And it would be another reason to get prices you don't even plan on using
