I FIGURED IT OUT.
For the longest time the strangers (pulse) rifle bothered the crap out of me. I hated using it. Something was just off about it.
Then it dawned on me. If you go into the weapons details, or view the gun in any 3rd person mode, the magazine is behind the trigger grip - just like all pulse rifles in destiny. HOWEVER when you view the gun in first person you'll notice the strangers rifle has the magazine in FRONT of the trigger grip. Which I think is what causes my biggest gripe. If you watch the reload animation you'll notice the magazine never fully seats inside the receiver for it on the gun. Pay attention to the top of the magazine during the animation. I think this is caused by the fact that this is a pulse rifle with the layout and animation of an assault rifle. (if you do not have the gun anymore you can use the YouTube link to see it in action again).
My OCD must be flaring up really badly today...

I don't like her gun because it takes up to much of my field of vision it's like a guy with a yellow helmet is sitting just in front of my tv

Huh I've never noticed it. I'll check it out tonight. Lucky for me I saved mine to use with my second character.

Bullpups for the win. Silly non gun enthusiast designers.

I noticed this too. Not sure why they didn't "fix"this, but a lot of weapon player animations are built on a shared library by group and I think they just had to choose the one that looked least offensive. Has nothing to do with not knowing how guns work. It looks like it should fit the pulse rifle group of anims but I'm guessing it's slightly off and looks strange when using that anim set. Or maybe the gun looks weak with the mag in the back for first person? But slick in third. Definitely strange.

I noticed it when I first got it. This literally shows bungie employees have either never used the rifle or saw it and just don't care to fix it. It is clearly a bullpup design in 3D person and when previewed.
