mechanics for PvE

Let me start by saying I enjoy the game as a whole. There are some things here and there that I think, if changed, would make the game more enjoyable. One of these things would be to make the bosses in PvE more than bullet sponges. I played WoW for years and my favorite part of the MMO experience was grouping up and taking down a tough boss. But what made each boss interesting was the involvement of different mechanics. They didn't just sit there throwing out 1-shot attacks to everyone in their line of sight. They interacted with the players in special ways. You did that with the raid, and I enjoyed that. Avoiding the Gorgons(I think that's what's they are called) in the Vault of Glass was brilliant. The tense moments of a close call, the panic of being spotted, the sense of relief when your whole team is on the same page and lights it up before wiping the group. It makes it challenging and fun. But the strikes have none of that. They boil down to "shoot the boss, avoid the big hit, shoot the boss, etc." In my experience, the strikes should be preparing people for things to come in the raid. But you aren't doing that. Not only would it help mold PvE players into the kind of thinking to be successful in the raid, but it would also make the strikes so much more fun. It could also be an opportunity to make the different classes shine in various situations. For example: A mob spawns across the room but is immune to bullet damage, if you don't get to it soon and Melee it, it debuffs the group. Hunters would fly over and dispatch it. Things like that would make the players of those classes feel like they are really contributing to the group more than unloading mag after mag into the boss. Please Bungie, this game has so much potential. I want to love it, but it's just not there yet.
