Raid Tokens (Marks)! Improving your raiding/End-Game experience

After a lot of reading here on the forums and debating it myself, I have come to the conclusion that a Raid Token/Mark system would be very beneficial to Destiny. Why you may ask? Well let's discuss it. Many MMO's have incorporated a token system into their most challenging content, ensuring that even if you never get anything to drop you can still earn the rewards; in time. Destiny is not a labeled MMO, but let's face the truth people; it practically is. If you want to be technical you could call it a MMOFPSRPG, just the smaller player count in zones is why it's a "shared-world-shooter". It seems one of the most common raid complaints going around is not feeling rewarded enough after completing the raid. Many argue the game just came out, and it's based on RNG (Random-Number-Generated) drops and you need to be patient. The other half says they've either gotten nothing from a drop or boss or just shards both weeks. In reality if someone were to get all weapons/shards/energies every single week from the chests and bosses they wouldn't be able to progress to 30 and would be considerably behind for the next raid released in December. That's a lot of weeks! But with RNG, you never know your luck, so it is plausible. Some people arguing say they've gotten nothing (meaning 0) rewards from a boss or chest, now that's not RNG; that's clearly a bug. I've experienced this bug and it is frustrating, at least a shard would of been nice. It is 109 light to hit 29, which is possible without any raid gear. It requires however 120 light for 30, which requires 4 pieces of gear to have 30 light. So 3 raid pieces and 1 exotic maxed, or 4 raid pieces maxed. So why Tokens? And what would they do? A token system would be a mark system, in theory. Even if you're at 28+ you're still doing your weekly strikes, why? Because of the marks! Even though strikes now offer those players no good gear the marks can still offer them weapons and legendary's to break down for materials or even use! The same goes for farming Crucible marks, or even faction rep! Completing a raid would give you "Raid Marks" that would eventually lead to a piece of raid gear or an raid weapon. For example say each boss drops 1 mark. One piece of raid gear would cost 4-8 marks depending on it's slot. Let's say gloves and boots cost 4 marks, a chest 6 and a helmet 8. That would be a total of 22 marks meaning 11 weeks of raiding. That's definitely patience if you ask me! This would allow RNG to still play a significant role in the game and also allow players to have a fair chance at gear. Maybe even tie it into vanguard rep as well? Make higher levels have a purpose! All raid gear requires raid marks AND level 4 vanguard? That seems pretty awesome too me! Would give us End-Game players more need to farm vanguard rep past level 3 and do more and more strikes. I'd like this suggestion to get some hits! What do you all think? Vote in the poll and post your comments and criticism, maybe even add onto the idea? We all know Bungie reads the forums and community feedback! Let's make this game better.
