Upcoming Engram System Too Easy?

Destiny is a fun game and even I think Bungie could have done a few things better... ok, maybe a lot of things better. Yes, I think the game had more potential, but I'm not gonna whine too much since it's still the best game I've played in a long while. But the thing that has been bothering the most recently is how much others are whining about the more trivial things. On top of that Bungie is giving in to the players demands. What's made that obvious is Bungie's imminent adjustment of the engram system. Yes, it could use some changes but what it doesn't need is easier loot. Am I the only one that doesn't mind that items be hard to get? In fact, I think they're too easy to get. Yea, that's right. I got an exotic weapon bounty recently that had me finish five strikes without dying. Way too easy, I was dissapointed. But I was glad to find out there was not only one task but more, and when I saw what the second task was I thought "this is amazing a 25 K/D spread thats almost impossible!" to my utter dissapointment the task was not what I thought and the goal was too easy to get to over the spread of a few games. Not only that, but I've also seen too many people with the exact same exotic equipment including my own. The fun about having legendary and exotic items be hard to get is to have the feeling that you earned them; not seemingly random rewards in the Crucible, not simple and easy tasks, not random drops, and certainly not fruits from the farm. What I expected from Bungie was that they would actually praise your hard work with the more rare equipment. Well, not only was I dissapointed in that aspect, but now Bungie is giving in to player demand to make the Cryptacrch "fair" when rewarding you for an engram, making the more rare items easier to obtain. I do give Bungie proper respect for attempting to properly evacuate the farmers from the battlefield, and also about being incredible about staying in touch with the players, listening to their woes, providing constant updates, etc. However, I think it would be nice if Bungie continued to make a great game by addressing players concerns without giving in to them. And since I almost never post my own concerns here are some things I think Bungie could do to make us all happy: 1. Create a system where items are earned instead of received randomly (Without giving away the requirements). 2. Keep up the jaw-dropping artwork with new content. 3. Have badges earned during Crucible visible in the post-game report. 4. Create more diversity in the Legendary gear compared to the more common items. 5. More detailed content overall. 6. Do something with the unenterable entrances in every map (I think and hope Bungie has a plan for these already). 7. Keep up the constant evacuation of farmers. 8. More class diversity. (Fill up the empty subclass slot in every class). 9. Keep up that constant dedication and hard work that goes into maintaining the game (Such as weapon balance). 10. Any way to make the players more unique is great, as long as they earn their uniqueness. Anyways, this is all I have to say. For you guys on the forum: make yourselves heard. And For Bungie: Keep Up the Hard Work, You Have Created an Amazing Game!

  • I fully disagree with you about item rarity. It is rediculous how difficult it is to obtain even decent gear in this game. I have put in close to 30hours of play time and I have found 0 legendary engrams, I have been offered 0 exotic weapons bounties. I got lucky and found a legendary chest armor from a blue engram... My buddy, has played roughly the same amount as I have, maybe slitghtly more. He has 2 Exotics A legendary and he is currently working on his first exotic bounty. Why does he get all that stuff and I get nothing? We play together all the time, I was there when he found one of his exotics. But still... I have nothing to show for it. From what I can tell, the only way I will possibly get an exotic, is to buy it from Xur

    • Wall of text.... geezus. I suggest breaking your post down to a few sentences considering the patch isn't even live. Smh.

    • Do we know that legendaries and exotics will be easier to get after the patch? Given that the Cryptarch will be less random and that any existing legendary engrams will change to blue after the patch, I expect that the difficulty in acquiring the best engrams may be going up to compensate.

And For Bungie: Keep Up the Hard Work, You Have Created an Amazing Game![/quote] Actually all legendaries can be purchased with C/V/F. Given shops exist for them... Why then crack down on the casual player base? Not everyone can play hardcore to get all those items you know. I will say this: your demands are purely egotistical. It only sees the hardcore side. But I will get there. So for casuals, I fall in between, what then? They can't enjoy this game because they don't have the time to grind or farm or whatever they need to get legendary/exotics. That is why Xur exists. To help people who play less enjoy the game along with hardcore people. Now back to hardcore: You do know that only hardcore players have access to the end game content of Raid and that only Raid gives unique Raid legendaries/exotics? So only hardcore can have those items. Casuals can only wish they could have them unless they find time to do VoG. I haven't beaten a Raid because I can't play as hardcore as my friends can. But I can still enjoy the game with them because I grinded Crucible rep and bought legendary chests, boots and arms. I purple dropped my exotic auto rifle and Xur sold me the helm I wanted. So when Xur sells the same rifle I own am I going to cry? No. That seems stupid to do. Because right now there are literally hundred of players with the same rifle as mine. I just haven't met them (I already seen several people with the same one anyway) TL;DR: Enjoy the game your way. Let others enjoy the game their way.
