I love grinding, old stylie

I see a lot of gamers complaining they have to do the same thing over and over again to progress anywhere! Well, funny thing is this is true for the majority of games out there that are filled with pre-generated content. Just what game are you comparing this to? It's a hybrid FPS RPG which has traits from both. I've played FPS games like Modern Warfare games, Timesplitters, Goldeneye 64, Payday 1&2, Doom, Black, Duke Nukem 3D, etc... All of which you do the same thing over and over and over again. Even all the RPGs I've played required doing several hundred boss fights, Dungeon Crawls, random battles, all in the hopes of getting that awesome piece of loot! That's what I love about this game. I can't just run through it in 3 days like I did with Metro 2033 or Rage and then think there's not much else for me to do. The social aspect to be able to play with mates, or make new ones, means that for once I'm not grinding alone or in silence! It's like the days of Diablo 2 where you get together with your clan and "play the game". There are a lot of things that could be better, but the difference with Destiny is it evolves. So it will get better the longer I stick at it. I love a challenge and right now, I'm getting one. Bring on the Ascendant material hunt friends!

  • Well, I would have to say I do compare the game to the likes of Borderlands 1 and 2 and even defiance. Of the fps list you mentioned, all of them have a story. Yes, even call of duty had some strange story. I beat fps's like Bioshock Infinity in 2 days on Hard and I loved the story. Destiny lacks that. And yes, I do read the grimore cards via the bungie app. Gives nice background story for some things but the rest....I dunno. Maybe they will add more? Maybe they wont. Side note: I dont care about the loot cave, tiny bit peeved by the queens wrath event (mainly the 2 lousy rare weapons you can buy) and id like the lvl 28 boss fights to drop something other then 25 glimmer.
