Just a thought

First of all, I love this game to no end. That being said, I still think there is much room for improvement. I don't have any complaining to do in this post, but rather, some simple suggestions. Please note that I currently have very little technical knowledge video game deveopment. So please refrain from stupid comments that offer no contribution. I am writing this in hopes that someone with the knowledge (perhaps someone at Bungie) could look at it and say "Hmmm... Maybe we should try that." If you are anything like me and the countless others of players who have said that it was tough to get invested in your character, then continue reading. I wana spice up the game a little. The campaign is linear, as we all know. Almost painfully so. However, I do feel like that game was more geared towards end-game anyway. WIth that being said, I think the game would be far more enjoyable if the campaign was dynamic instead of a "sit and fight in one spot" sort of deal. It's a little repetitive. Personally, I think the implementation of an AI ally system to be put in place, meaning that all campaign missions will have three guradians at all times. I think this move could open up a huge possiblity of mission dynamic. Each guardian has a unique skill set, so why don't we utilize it in campaign? Here's a sample idea I had... Say the mission calls for the team to move through a system of gates in a "U" layout around a central guard tower. If each team was comprised of a hunter, a warlock, and a titan, then the mission could require a special strength of each of the classes. In this scenario, the hunter is most pivotal. Say the team arrives at the first gate and does the whole "pew pew pew" thing to clear up the space. Well, now what? Say the only way to open this gate is through a laser-activated diode that rests at the top of the gate and the only lase available is at the top of that tower. So, the hunter could utilize higher base agility as well as their blink to navigate their way up the tower, fighting any mobs he or she encounters, while the two guardians below fight off an infinite steady stream of mobs. Once at the top of the tower, the hunter can then turn on the corresponding laser that points to the diode to allow the two guardians below to pass through it. Once on the inside, the hunter can disengage the laser, shutting the gate behind them and stopping the pursuit of the infinite mob waves. While inside the gate, the two guardians below will fight whatever mobs that may be there while the hunter provides overwatch and waits to open the next gate. Now here's the boss fight. the titan's ground slam isn't good for much else beyond a huge amount of AoE damage. But why can't it also be used for environment triggers in game? Say that in this second gate that the hunter openend, there is a huuuuuuuge boss with a ton of health (as all the bosses seem to have). Sure, you can tank and spank it, but what's the fun in that? Now, with all three guardians fighting mobs and firing at a boss, players may think, "Well, crap. This is gonna take forever." Instead, I would much rather think "Okay, let's see if I can do this right." Using skill is much more fun to me than testing patience. Anyway, as the big boss man blunders around on the ground after the two guardians in the pit with him, there could be three covered holes with hard crystal shards (environment occurence) in the bottom that damage or kills whatever falls in to it. The titan guardian could ground pound near a covered hole to open it just before the boss gets there so he falls in and take a huge hit. If done successfully all three times (and only three, as the boss should avoid the holes if he notices them) then the big fat tanky boss could just be big and fat. Maybe the shards wouldn't even have to damage him, but make an armor debuff on the boss that makes it easier to damage him and ultimately making the fight more efficient and strategic. Meanwhile, there could also be overhangs, either structures or environmental stuff that the warlock could nova-bomb loose when the boss is under them to provide additional sources of damage. I dunno what you guys think, but to me, this sounds like a much more fun way to play story line. I would also like to know more about the different factions through in-game events and stories. Grimoire cards are cool, but I lack the patience to pice togehter all the information. I want to see the story unfold, ya know? Anyway, I am off for the night. Pardon any spelling or grammatical errors. It's far too late for me to care. Goodnight, fellow nerds!
