No, I don't like making my own maps or videos!

One thing in Destiny that feels like it is missing is the lack of a Forge and Theater. For those that Destiny is their first Bungie game I'll explain a little. Forge was a tool introduced in Halo 3 that allowed players to craft their own maps for PvP and often Bungie showcased them in matchmaking and on the Fileshare page. While Theater is exactly what it sounds like. You could watch footage from previous games and take videos of it or screenshots. Then you could caption and share these screenshots, maps, or videos in your file share. There was also a page where you could view the most popular of these 3 categories. Bungie also made contest for various things, with rewards such as map packs for those players who won. But onto why Destiny needs these features. When Call of Duty releases everyone knows that likely more than half the games population is going to drop. Its inevitable and happens every time a Halo game releases before Call of Duty. But Forge and Theater were two things that kept players coming back to the game. Some of the screenshots people came up with would make you die laughing, and the maps that players created? They were extremely impressive, almost as if it was developed by a developer! Because of these functions, Halo games had so much life in them even when the player count averaged around 10,000 players. I kept coming back to look at the popular screenshots and make some of my own. I spent countless hours in forge just playing around. Image if you could play a custom game mode on Destiny on a map you created, or getting to see some of the hilarious moments that other people experienced but couldn't quite explain. These made Halo 3 and Halo: Reach so much more enjoyable and the amount of player interaction with Bungie exceeded any other game to date. This is part of the reason that so many people love Bungie, not just for their games, but because back in the Halo days they played and interacted with their players via the Forge and Theater. You know how good it feels to have a screenshot acknowledged by a member of Bungie? Or have your map be played by thousands of players in matchmaking? These two features could add so much more depth to the game than it already has and I pray Bungie that you revive them. Be Brave.
