Auto Rifles too over powered

TL;DR = Nerf Autos or Buff precision rifles to be on par with Auto Rifles. I feel like the Auto Rifles are unfair in PvP. Someone like me who prefers precision over rate of fire, likes to play with a Scout or Pulse rifle, but I noticed that I do not stand a chance 75% of the time in close to medium combat. Why does this bother me? Well there's only 3 different categories of guns for primary and it's unfair how Auto Rifles will demolish almost anyone up close to medium range when most of the maps are small. What's the point of a Scout and Pulse rifle anyways if majority of the maps are fairly close range giving auto rifle user an advantage? When I use precision rifles I land almost every bullet on the head, but if the enemy has an auto rifle I'll be dead by the time I can land a 4th shot. It's also unfair how some Auto Rifles have almost half way impact with 230 damage and crazy good stability. Some of the Scout rifles claim to be "versatile" in all ranges, but that isn't true. And some of the Pulse rifles can go full auto, but they still don't stand a chance. Nerf Autos or Buff precision rifles to be on par with Auto Rifles.

  • Jeez.....have better accuracy and maybe you will realize those "precision weapons" will take out a player faster than a auto rifle. My scout and my hand cannon both can kill a player in 3 shots(hand cannon) and 4 with the scout. Headshots are easy to get.

    • They aren't overpowered. If you consider fire rate and damage points. If you can hit all your shots with a scout rifle or pulse rifle. You will get kills. Be as it is. Since the auto rifle has a high rate of fire. You are more likely to hit more shots. Than a pulse rifle or scout rifle. But if you can master the scout rifle or pulse rifle. It can be equally as deadly.

    • The auto rifles are suppose to be good close to mid range. If you prefer precision over rate of fire that's your choice, but you will lose everytime as it should be. What the Singen-E has in stability it lacks in impact. Impact is the base damage done by the weapon. I take a 1/3 of a mag into head and neck area shots to get a kill with it. Sorry, but the auto rifles are no where near op and if you choose to go up against a rifle that can put twice as much ammo down range as a semi auto rifle, than you really can't complain as you chose to use the less advantageous weapon.

Autos are used more often, merely because they are the most versatile. You're much more likely to engage someone in a mid-ranged encounter because of the proximity radar and the way the maps are laid out. If you take a look at the larger maps, everyone tosses on a Sniper, especially when it comes to the map on the Moon (not too keen on the map names yet.) It's all about choosing the most versatile option, as most players aren't patient or tactical enough to post up and pick a position that provides the tactical advantage of distance, depending upon which weapon type they've chosen.

    • I agree precision weapons are at a big disadvantage to auto rifles. By the time I make the third trigger pull on my scout rifle in already dead. The majority of people will ALWAYS gravitate to the best weapon and that is without a doubt auto rifles and then fiercely defend their crutch of a weapon. I really hate that game developers have taken out the skill and precision aspect of shooters in the last several years. Now most shooters are just mindless run around the map and whoever pulls the right trigger first wins. This is why I have always liked halo where its not all about full auto guns that can hit you across the map. I'm sure bungie will eventually balance the weapons but prior experience tells me we will probably have to wait several months before such a patch is released. there are a few auto rifles such as the shingen-e which has nearly maxed out rate of fire AND stability. This gun just destroys everything in its path. How they thought this gun was balanced is beyond my comprehension. Here's my ideas on how to balance auto rifles: Increase recoil with an increasing penalty the longer the trigger is held. Reduce impact to the lowest of all weapons. Auto rifles should do the least amount of damage per shot of all guns no exceptions. Auto rifle damage drop off needs to be shortened significantly. increase rate of fire on scout and pulse rifles. reduce recoil on scout and pulse rifles. this will still make auto rifles the best choice at close range and a 50/50 chance at winning in medium range and bad choice for long range engagements. Right now auto rifles dominate at all but very long range.

      • I've been doing far better than I thought I would with my hand cannon. Granted it's exotic, but still. Everyone said hand cannon sucks in pvp. As far as I can tell, it's on par with auto rifles. Haven't tried pulse or scout in pvp though.

        • Those stat bars lie i tell you, I'm seeing a lot of bs. Auto rifles are suppose to have low stability and range as a balance for they're reload and firing speeds (basically). AR's can be found with decent or the rare high stability (And perks to increase it). It seems you only really need Range or Stability on a AR for it to hit very accurate from ranges that should be Scout or Pulse rifle territory. Example, I have 2 different Heavy Machine guns - Thunder Lord: Which seems to be balanced cause of the kick, even with a slower fire rate then the FWC(below). Of course i can grab the stability perk, but I prefer the larger mag which gives me also more carry ammo(I would probably take stability perk for PvP). - A FWC: which has low stability, .. decent range, I think full fire rate. This thing hardly has no kick, its just far too accurate then it should be. I've come across other guns types that for some reason just are not balanced or doing what they should be. AR's are more accurate then they should be, if you can full auto mid-long range there is clearly an unbalance, imo.

And i'm fairly certain that there are no class/weapon restrictions. So i don't understand the complaint. I doubt i would want a scout rifle one shot at a time in actual combat. Id want to spray the fk out of something. I love scout rifle in pve... But i switch that shit out for PVP...

            • Get over it. You died in pvp. If they nerfed every weapon that people have complained about already everyone would be down to melee only... And of course would btich about that too and probably already do
